I recently bought a used Markbass F1 and a used SWR Son of Bertha, shown with my '82 Tokai Hardpuncher ltd. Played through it on rehearsal last night and liked the sound. z
Nice bass! Is that a 1x12 or a 1x15? Cheers L

Cheers for the replies everyone! After looking through some old threads, i've decided to order a Minotaur strap. They look fantastic for the money so it was a no-brainer. Cheers L

Hi all, I've decided its about time i treated myself to a decent strap. On my P-bass i use an old TGI leather strap, and for my MM Jazz i have a no-name wide suede strap. Now i've bought my Lakland, I'm looking for a decent strap to use with that. I've looked on various websites, and the number of different straps are unbelievable! Does anyone here know of any good straps to recommend? I've been looking at Levy's, DSL and TGI. My only requirements are that its fairly plain (eg no fancy patterns, or bullets attached) and that its at least 3.5" wide. Padding would be nice also. Budget isnt too important, the Levys M4GF i was looking at is £39, so thats a guide. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! Lorry

I had an Ashdown EB12-180 combo thats of non-UK origin, and like many people, i didnt have a single problem with it! I really regret selling it, and am currently looking at upgrading to the MAG range. Every ashdown i have tried so far has been great!

Hi all on Basschat, FOR SALE Fender Standard Series Precision Bass: -Made in Mexico (2003) -Black with Rosewood fretboard, white scratchplate -Fender Split coil pickup -Volume & Tone Controls -20 fret 'board I am currently having a bass clearout, and am reluctantly selling my Fender P-bass, known as "Rex". The bass is the 2003 model and has been well looked after. The bass is in great condition, with no major wear and tear. There is a small area where some paint has worn on the lower horn, but was like that when i bought it, plus it isnt very noticable It has been well gigged and has a fantastic P-bass sound, that cuts through a band mix really well! Included in the sale is a Fender monogrammed strap, and black Schaller straplocks. Very sad to see it go =[ The Bass is cash on collection only - no trades, sorry. Also, the bass will need to be collected from Ely, Cambridgeshire - I am not willing to post due to bad experiences in the past. THIS BASS IS NOW WITHDRAWN Thanks, Lorry
Heres my current gear. Just got the svt 4pro yesterday PA040570 by seanjgallacher, on Flickr
Nice rig Im looked at buying the Marshall MBC410 cab - what do you think of it? I'll be using it with their MB450H head, its just my MBC115 doesnt seem to cut through very well!

They guy didnt turn up, so the basses remain unsold =/

Another quick update! A guy is comming round to look at my Taurus tonight, so today was my last chance to take some decent 'family shots' before i start losing basses! These two will be the gigging basses from now on! The Lakland is (about to be) a new aquisition, and the Corvette is on loan (however it will go home this week). Not bad for an 18 year old. My amp & pedals can be found a few posts back - hopefully upgrading the cabinets for christmas!

I'm quite fond of most of Fender's products (i am definately not a Gibson guy). Been using J's, P's, Strat's and Tele's for a long time. I think Fender products are awesome - however some of the prices are abit 'steep' - i buy mostly used. HOWEVER I have just borrowed(-with-intention-of-buying) a Lakland 44-02 and Im very impressed with the build quality. Sounds and feels like a Fender, very versatile and the build quality is great!

The John East is far too much money... I was thinking along the lines of an Aguilar OPB-2TK
-
After recently buying a Lakland 44-02, I've decided my MM Jazz could also do with a new lease of life... Does anyone have any preamp recomendations that wouldn't be too hard to install? Anything that doesnt change the bass cosmetically and can still have the preamp on/off switch would be great!

Hi all, quick update... I have a Lakland 44-02 on loan and i love it! I can get this one used at a good price. Looks like now i'm selling everything, and keeping the MM Jazz and the Lakland. Seems a shame to get rid of 'Rex' the P-bass, but i suppose i could always save up again and get myself another one later on! Cheers -
I had an Ashdown Electric Blue combo. When i upgraded to a Marshall, it turned out it was a downgrade. Customer service was awful, marshall let me down bigtime. I've always regretted selling my Ashdown, so i shall upgrade to them again soon! I've always prefered Ashdown's stuff over Trace Elliot. I'd pay the extra for the Ashdown, but try both and see where you get!
-
Right this is REALLY annoying for me, i had 3 MB4210s blow up on me, and then my MBC115 cab blew the crossover, in the space of 3 weeks. Marshall did NOTHING and couldnt care less.
-
Im speaking from experience when i say dont buy anything from the Marshall MB range except the MB30 combo.

Nice pic! Reminds me of my ashdown EB-12 180 i used to have. When i was at my old house i used it as a bedside table, as it was the only place in my room where it would fit!
