I'm afraid I can no longer trade for the eden, cause the markbass thing didn't go through. So i'm stuck with the buzzing laney 120 combo till I can save up!

So all evening I have been admiring many fantastic builds and now i'm interested, very interested in getting my hands dirty.. errr dusty? I think building my own bass is out of the question as I have no tools, however I may be able to build a cab. Though I would like some rough blue prints per say... I do not know an awful lot of sound waves and dynamics etc etc. so any help would be useful. Also I think there should be a pinned thread that everyone can post a final picture of their creation plus a link to the build diary, just for ease of access? I don't know, maybe the mods can sort something out... if they think that is an okay idea. Philip

I've just tuned into this... oh my word that is going to look amazing! Though I may even prefer the grain on the back of the bass, it is that good. I'd love to see it in a 5 string version, I'm not good enough for a 6 string, nor do I personally want one. But this one looks pretty sweet! Cannot wait till it is finiished, you'll have to post some sound clips on youtube or something so we can hear it too!

Boy am I intruiged by this discussion! If fello were want to try his hand at this caper, what all would he need to consider? I understand the obvious wood choices etc. but what about speaker choices? Do I need to understand how sound waves work? What impact does the cab/bracing have on the sound/tone of the of the build? What about Air flow? Or is it a matter of chucking 6 bits of wood together and cutting a few holes? I am oblivious, sorry.

The new David Nordschow Amp (DNA) cabs. THe DNS 112 is going for 699 dollars on bass central and the shipping is an extra 275. So I think it'll end up pretty expensive!

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone has had experiences with importing cabs from America? what are the custom charges etc..?

I'd be tempted by one of those midgets for the studio. I think when you get to a certain price of cab it is going to be good no matter what, it'll simply come down to personal taste, right?

I've read up on some of the bareface stuff and without hearing them, thought they seemed interesting. However The reason I have only these two choices is that I am broke and have to pay it off and the company only really do these type of cabs. In future I plan to get a berg cab, and an eden head.... When I have a proper job, damn recession. There is a eden WT400 and a 4x10 going for 700 which I would snap up if I had the money. In the near future I want to get a 1x12/1x10 for our studio so all I have to do is transport the head!

Well it'll be used in a studio and needs to be very good. But if it produces a lot of noise I may just cut my losses and not buy any of them. Does anyone know of a noiseless compressor?

I'm interested in a compressor and this one seems to be pretty decent (I'm new to the whole effects thing, so don't really know) But yeah, does this pedal have any unwanted noise like a hissing etc. The last time I tried an effects unit was a Behringer V-amp (possibly) and it was shocking the amount of noise that came off it, sort of put me off them all together!
