  1. Anyone know of anyone who is good a setups and repairs in either of these areas?
  2. At the minute I play a Warwick Thumb 5 and it is a lovely bass. But I'd love a nice jazz as well, as a second bass and something a little different as I want to have a 4 string as well and love the look of the Will lee and DJ! Definitely getting a good setup on the bass is a must, after acquiring the thumb I soon knew what a setup/good setup was and my playing improved dramatically (at least I think it did) Would it be better to try and buy on here second hand in a pot luck sort of way ie. the bass may not fit or would it be wise to try local music shops and wait till something a little bit better than the rest comes along?
  3. If the pickups were also replaced sure in some way that would affect the sound also and make the passive tone similar? I'm thinking for the meantime it will sort of do as a stop gap! Damn BGM!
  4. Hi, Looking over at TB There is a lot of love for Sadowsky's and I read that review in BGM about the will lee model. Now I have a little Gas, but £2000+ for a bass is a lot of money (maybe one day). so my question is this, If I got a say £200 pound squier or something that played well, could I upgrade the pickups and pre amp and have basically a sadowsky? or is there a lot more to it than that?
  5. Without reading the whole thing I would like to add that a friend studied music in London and his uni was offering a bursary for up to £30K for their instruments.
  6. By chance one of these have landeed in my hands and I would like to know more about it. Is it any good? I don't know if it is working or anything but I'll fire it up and see! Any information would be welcome!
  7. How did you do that design?
  8. Hey all I have those Photos! http://www.flickr.com/photos/74336371@N03/6696364137/ I don't mind about refinishing it really, all I want is so that it doesn't get any worse as I have seen a wee bit of 'sawdust' in the case.
  9. I will take a few photos and let you all see, Thanks for getting back to me!
  10. are they still available?
  11. Pete sent a cover for the cab with a little surprise and it was greatly welcomed, all round great guy to deal with!
  12. I like it being a bass forum, I'm sure there are guitar forums for whoever wants that!
  13. On it! (like a car bonnet)
  14. I have a warwick and as you know it's a natural wood finish which has been waxed. There is a ding on the bottom and the wood has a chip out of it, pretty sizeable like 15mm long 5mm wide an 2 or 3 mm deep. What do I use to stop it from getting any worse?
  15. Thanks, Scooby!
  16. Hi all! I am thinking of buying this bass and was wondering if it is worth the money, thanks? http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/old-squier-jazz-bass-and-100w-amp/94019141#gallery-item-full-3 I don't know much about these squiers?
  17. I would love a 4 string lakland DJ or JO! or even a MIM Fender Jazz in a nice colour. maybe a pedal or two, DHA! and a usb recording thing!

  19. Is it normal that the treble on my warwick bass induces hum when up at all? if not what coulld it be? it is a 94. thanks
  20. I have a 5 string thumb, I was wondering is it possible to have a set of flats for a four string bass on it and keep the B string as a different brand? should i go for Ti's or Status flats?
  21. I think i'll wait till one comes up on the for sale section as i am a cheap ass! missed one yesterday! I don't want a massive pedal though! Anyone selling?
  22. What is the I/P pad about?
  23. Hey, I was looking into effects and i sort of want a pedal that can produce subtle valve overdriven sound right up to thhe dirty almost crunchy sound. Does DHA do such a thing? if so what should i go for? Also browny points for sound clips!
  24. Just purchased a Mesa Scout Cab from the fella! Item came as described and it was a very easy transaction! Though now I can hear all the sloppy playing, time to pratice! Thanks a lot Pete!
