Have you tried slowing down the youtube videos?

How are you going to do the neck? Will it be in two pieces with the fretboard done seperately or are you going with a skunk (I think that's the right word? It's late..) strip?

I'm definitely in the Conscious Knowing level. I've had moments of Unconscious Knowing and they were awesome. Normally they're fills when I'm just messing around on the instrument and not fully paying attention to what I'm doing. Proves what he says though doesn't it, the less I think about it, the better my line, I feel anyway.
