My Yamaha TRB is 34". It's the older version with the slap cutout. The newer ones are 35" I think.

I wish I was born to play bass. I don't feel I am though. It's certainly my favourite instrument and as others have said, it seems to suit my personality well and most of all I just love knowing that I'm part of the glue in a band My favourite playing moment was playing with a brass section and I was there like, I can't be seen because this damn trombonist is stood in the way but I couldn't care less right now! Best thing ever!

Woah! I like the look of it! Has that got a high or low F?

What I did was get a block of wood put the sandpaper on the neck and rubbed it down until it was the same radius and used that. Takes a while though. I also printed off a radius checker thing and put that on card and tried to make a piece of wood into that radius with different layers of tape. Not as successful. You don't really need one as people have said

You can take it on board with you and you can put it in the overhead lockers. It counts as your one bit of hand luggage but they have the right to say no to you taking it on board at the last minute. Also it can only be in a gig bag and not a hard case.

Hello, I just bought a Stagg and I'm loving it! But I have come to the conclusion that although I have watched Youtube lessons,(The Geoff Chalmers ones, really awesome btw!) I need a tutor who I can go to so I don't develop any bad habits from the beginning. My question is those of you who live in the South West. Who have you had good experience with? I have a car now so I can travel a bit for these lessons because I was only planning on having them once every 3 weeks or so. I've had a look in the tutors available section and I've seen a few in Bristol but I'd really love if someone had some experience with someone that they recommend? Thanks Sorry that was a bit long winded! Also... I hope here is cool for this

[/quote] If I was in this situation and I knew I was playing a gig, I would have taken my bass with me and maybe a small combo depending on what were the arrangements. I would not have touched that bass without asking before hand and maybe not at all. I try not to touch anything that I couldn't afford to replace and if I had to touch it, It would have been with the upmost care! But I may be different to other 20yr olds (that aren't on this forum).
