Depends if the tension between them is similar or not.

First up is looks. It's gotta look nice otherwise I wouldn't try it. Then tone, no point getting a bass if I don't like how it sounds. Close third is playability then comfort and finally cost. But cost is also one of the main ones, if it's lacking on any of these points and it's too expensive it's a no.
