1.
Electro voice re-20 is the best I've heard a bass amp recorded
My favourite! And I agree with everyone else. Go with DI aswell
2. Bumpp
3.
Erm I know? I'm just saying I think he did the same
Oh damn, I was making a joke (albeit a rubbishy one), I didn't realise it really was! Doh!
4. I grew up listening to rock music. Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath that kinda thing. For me though it was my brother instead of my parents who introduced me to music. He got the rock thing from my Dad and then expanded that into bands like In Flames and Slipknot etc. He also had N.W.A albums which I would pretend to enjoy. Now though, I can't stand Slipknot and In Flames, where as I could listen to N.W.A. I mainly listen to soul and funk at the minute. Found so many more artists through the threads on here so.. thanks bubinga you've given me so much more to listen to! And everyone else obviously
5.
Vic did the same to one of his I think
Don't lie that's a picture of your bass taken at a different angle
Yup! Problem? Sounds awesome. Love the non solder EMG pickups
I didn't realise they sounded different tbh. Thinking about it, I can see why they do.
6. You swapped out the J pickup.
7. Lo-Riders have a high tension
8. Hello! Yeah, I agree.. You probably shouldn't have sold that TRB! They are lovely!
9. Upp!
10. In my opinion I think the second video grooves more. Some of it is bass, obviously but I feel with these songs, the drums is what makes them different and affects the groove a lot!
11.
Take it easy- health first, music second.
Sensible! Sorry to hear that!
12. I'm heading to Corfu for a month in July with EasyJet. I'm a bit nervous trying it in the cabin because if it goes tits up I ain't got any extra money or a hardcase I'd trust it in. So I was thinking of investing in a SKB Bass Safe, as that seems highly recommended. Is this still so?
13.
Last track was the easiest track to record. One tempo. No time change. Nice easy parts with a few fidly bass bits which I nailed.... Yet it took me about 30mins to record one tiny easy part... Stupid jd.
Told ya Sounds like you enjoyed yourself though
14.
The next song is the easiest song so we should get that down nice and early.
It's always the easy songs that take the longest
15. Bump
16.
what is a NDBD?
New Double Bass Day! I've not had one
17. Either top or bottom
18. That is very pretty. I can't say anything else about it because I know a whole lotta nothing about double bass.. But I know enough to say that looks lovely, lovely, lovely
19.
Why do they have fanned frets ? I've always thought it looked stupid but I'm interested in the reason behind the funny looking frets
I think it's because it's a more natural shape for your hand to follow. I may well be wrong. But having never played one I can't give you first hand experience of this. Seriously would love a go on one though.
20. Ooh, I'm gonna follow this. Interested to see how the purpleheart neck turns out Sounds lovely and that top is fantastic!
21. My TRB has gold hardware.. It is sexy [sharedmedia=core:attachments:133488] Not the best photo at all but still! Sexy!
22. This is really good actually If you could do more with different tools than you might be able to get a whole little sub forum for it
23. In my whole life, I have never seen a £50 note..
24. I normally cut them a just over a fingers length away from the tuning pegs but only after bending the string 90degrees. I'm not sure how much difference it makes but if the strings are really long you may run out of room on the peg.
