  1. Bump!
  2. It depends in which octave you choose to play the piece. The ones I have tried previously needed the lower string but only when I played it lower down.
  3. I hope I didn't like imply he was not a trust worthy person or something. My apologies.
  4. That's cool, as long as you enjoy the bass, that's the main thing
  5. Not that I know of. I meant that I'm surprised that wasn't correct where as string height is a preference so I wouldn't expect that to be to my likely from the shop. But stuff like intonation and the neck relief etc. I'd hope to be correct.
  6. I hope you don't think I was saying he wasn't a good person or anything. I just think it's strange that the bass isn't set up (intonation right, string height is a preference) in the shop tbh.. But what you said about him makes him sound like a good chap
  7. Hmm.. Seems to me like if it was in his shop he would set it up.. Maybe not the case though..
  8. Wait a sec.. Is the new bass you want set up, the same one you bought from him? If so, why was it not set up when you bought it? and if you don't like the set up on the bass, would you really want to take it back to him? If this is a different bass then ignore me
  9. Oooh actually. Try Clevedon Music shop. They're quite good in there. When I was in school I did one week work experience there. Not sure about Rikaxxe. Heard of it but never been in there.
  10. That sounds exactly like the place!
  11. Such a tune! Sorry can't help out though...
  12. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/26654-recommended-luthiers/ There's some in this thread in Bristol. Obviously there will be others but I can't really help with that. Just don't go to Emarty (now Weston music shop). I had my bass set up there, it took them a month and I swear all they did was change the strings. I was younger then, should have complained but I didn't. Anyway, hope this helped
  13. Missed it, hopefully it'll be on youtube sometime. I also really dislike his singing when soloing. It's never quiet enough that I can ignore and listen to his playing unfortunately.
  14. Ask LukeFRC. It seems like he bought it from you. As he was the last to Pm you
  15. That was nice! I enjoyed it, thanks for sharing His flat/house looked lovely too..
  16. Thanks Chris It's really not a bad bass just not my thing unfortunately. Bump!
  17. Hello, I bought this bass about 3 months ago and haven't really played it since then. I got it because I wanted to try out a 6 string and I found out that I'm more of a 5 string player with a high C. It's a good bass for people who want to give 6 string a go. Plays well has a small ding on the headstock (as shown in the pictures). Has a lovely grain to it. The gold on some of the knobs has worn of but they all work. No trades please, looking to buy a EUB. Collection or courier at buyers expense. I have a gig bag I can put this in before I wrap it. Based in Weston-super-Mare but can meet up in Bristol if necessary. £90. 18. She's a keeper!
  19. I'd not mess with the Ibanez and just buy a cheaper P bass
  20. Rickenbacker 4001. No way can I afford one though!
  21. Definitely number 1!
