1. I just recently got a 5 string and the only problems I have with it. A. Actually using the B string but now i'm working on some scales, etc. so I'm more comfortable with it and B. I have difficulty swapping between using it as a thumb rest and then jumping to rest on the pickup. But as people have said these things take time
 2.
Hi from another new member. Similar story but I did actually start out on bass, then on my tutors recommendations moved to guitar for many, many years (about 30) and have now finally moved back to my calling. Have been studying bass for the last two years and am really loving it. I play in a band with two 49 year old fantastic musicians and my 18 year old son who plays drums. I’m forty six and very much think of myself as the weak link. But I do own the PA! I play a Michael Tobias Design KZ4 bass, it is a wonderful instrument and very light weight. I had to replace my previous bass due to serious back problems. I am looking to replace my under powered EBS Classic 60 combo so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated although it does have to be light weight. Roj BCB (Black Country Bass)
Damn your font is small!
 3.
they sell shiploads of records, play to hundreds of thousands of screaming teenage girls, break all existing records and generally create dozens of fascinating [s]factoids[/s] factlets that will be quoted in internet forums nearly 50 years later!
There you go, now it's perfect
 4. That's true, I watched his interview for iBass Mag on Youtube where he said that the first things he learnt on bass were Jaco lines, I almost quit there and then
 5.
I said pretty much exactly the same thing in a thread about a month ago! Good, isn't he?
He's so good!
 6.
last few times I've seen Macca on the tele his voice has sounded well dodgy, think its time he packed the live work in, same for Elton John and Sir Cliff, Tom Jones and Jagger still sound ok though and even Ray Davies just about pulled off the Olympics ceremony.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to think this
 7.
He is absolutely awesome. His work with Joe Zawinul is awesome. He did a masterclass at UK Bass Day a few years back and it got a standing ovation. First time I have seen that happen.
Nice! I'll be watching that later. Quick question how did you make your link show as a video?
 8.
One thing that I did find distasteful was the slagging of him for his appearance in the Olympic & Jubilee bashes.
I know this is going against your post.. but I did think his voice was a bit rough then, only criticism I had of it.
 9.
Fab factlet: John Lennon wrote many songs about peace and love
Are you googling these or are you like a font of factlets? Well I just made this 22 pages long..
 10. That design is just so damn sexy!
 11. Richard Bona! https://www.youtube....h?v=dnFhvxcNXME I love it already!

 15. Does anyone know why I can't sign up for the newsletter? It says I have an invalid email address..
 16.
Yes. The brackets are so you don't sharpen an existing sharp (sometimes called a double sharp e.g. F## = G).
Ah, I wouldn't have done that but I assume other people possibly would. The simple reason I wouldn't have done so, is because I don't understand double sharps themselves
 17.
Hi Myke, They're called courtesy accidentals. They are just a reminder of the correct pitch, if the note had been sharpened/flattened in the previous bar. Joe.
Ah sweet! Thank you very much appreciated!
 18. Hey I've been working on my music recently and I've come across accidentals in brackets such as (#) before the note. Can somebody please tell me what this is. Sorry if this sounds stupid Cheers Myke
 19. Motley Crue Slipknot I'm sure there are more but none jump out but tbh I it's more my music taste changing as I get older
 20. I was literally about to start a topic about these bridges? I don't understand why they are priced like that, how do they affect the sound, if at all? Sorry may seem like a naive question. P.S. I don't want to steal your topic but it's kind of related.
 21. It looks amazing! Well done
 22. My first bass a G2 XB300.. which I think was a copy of the Stagg X400 as it's exactly the same shape just has black hardware instead of chrome. I know this because my mate has the Stagg
 23. I just did this to my strings and I agree it does make a difference
 24.
I'm not too sure about the 6" and 8" cabs as the dot on the "i" - I'm more into capitals.
Edit: Whoops! Forgot to say hello!
 25. My first ever bass that my brother bought me, I'm never going to get rid of it so it sits on a stand with no strings on Oh and an electric and acoustic guitar that were my mums but she never used so they now sit in my room getting dusty. I can't play guitar in the slightest.
