Here is a link to a US site http://www.bassstrin...et-_p_1373.html Has a guide on the bottom of the description, so bought the equivalent sizes, not quite sure if they'll be available as whole sets yet.

I'm a bit surprised no one has posted this up here, quite an interesting read on string tension, (even if he is overly cocky and condescending) http://zacharyguitars.com/Strings.htm I currently have set the Dadario 5 string balanced set on my bass and feel that the B string is still a bit loose, might try a larger gauge B string and see if it's any better (if it'll fit in my bridge)

[s]PRICE DROP £150[/s] Price Drop £100 It is in pretty good condition, no tears to the fabric, and the corner protectors aren't too scuffed. The only thing is I had to attach casters to the bottom of the cab, so they are no longer removable. Other than that the cab is in perfect working condition. 600w @ 8 OHMS 4 x 10" Eminence speakers HF Horn With Attenuator Takes both Speak-On & Jack inputs.

What sort of music do you play? - mainly hard rock, with a bluesy tone
What sort of band are you in? - as above!
What type of bass do you play? I currently have an active eq, vintage 5 string, nothing fancy does what I need!
What bass cab do you run your amp through? - I( have a 8ohm warwick 411 pro
Do you use any/lots of effects? No effects, but i would like a boost channel for when I'm shredding sh*t up!
does it need to be lightweight? - as long as I don't need a trolley to carry it then it should be fine
I'm looking to get a new bass amp pretty soon, just a head. My main concern is reliability. I would like something that will never break!!! Someone suggested to me that a power amp and pre amp is the most reliable route to go! I have had 2 amps fail on me in the last 2 years which was expensive... My budget is up to about £800! So yeah as the topic states, I'm looking for some amp suggestions that I can go try out! Thanks

After coming and looking here i found an andriod app called audio speed changer, does what it says on the tin, for audio files fom your phone loaded and adjusted in seconds!

I've been using reaper, Riff works (amazing for arranging song structures) but most recently downloaded a few apps for my andriod phone: The guitar pro tabs app, which is about £1.99 and they have an upgrade to read guitar pro tabs for $4.99, dunno what that is in £s and for recording on the fly; Four Track Pro, litterally lets you record up to 4 tracks on the go when you may be in a rehesal room or at a mates house jamming and dont have anything else spare. This is free if you upgrade it has limited editing options and a metronome. Jam Box- is pretty much a scale and chord library. in the free version it has guitar positions but if you upgrade it has 5&4 string bass positions. (not sure about 6).

cased closed thanks wont be trying that then!

As in the topic description I was wondering that if I plugged my amp into my cab using both the connections as though splitting the amp into 2 cabs but plugging it into one then would it give me more wattage going into the speaker, and if so would it explode into oblivion? Thanks Ben
Two fingers is fine.
That's what she said.... Anyone found using a powerball can help to build up stamina? I've got one and definitely helps me keep up a pace. as for getting to a pace, probably just practise to a metronome? fast songs you can learn; battery or master of puppets, both good for string changes at a fast pace. I agree with the muse and maiden too!

Hey, I'm playing in a 5-piece rock band based in bristol called blackwolf Myspace = http://www.myspace.com/ukblackwolf We play a mix of covers and original. Currently focusing on the original material! got a few gigs lined up over the next few months and always looking for more, and to play with loads more bands! Its mainly influenced by Led Zep, Guns n Roses, AC/DC e.t.c. We're all between 19-24 and rocking hard as nails! We're playing the O2 indigo arena in london on saturday... should be sweet as!

Under The Bridge by RHCP stands out in my books... even though I love playing it! Some songs you just know you shouldn't play to other people. Other mentions; Nothing Else Matters Paranoid Man Who Sold The World House Of The Rising Sun (even if it is the classic song to teach people how to pick chords) Voodoo Chile (unless your in a band called the hamsters and can destroy it to pieces (in a good way))

I use 0000 super fine wire wool to lightly buff the surface of the wood, make sure you cover pickups and switches/volume/tone controls, so no filings get in them, then polish it with gerlitz guitar honey! makes it brand new looking and feeling! the honey is about £5.50 from amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gerlitz-Guitar-Hon...4665&sr=8-1
