1. I expect the train sound sample libraries to be rinsed dry!
2. Think Mother Mary by Black Label Society does it for me http://youtu.be/gqM8rooJrHQ
3. Playing the roots surely ??
4. Does anyone find that the closer they get to pay day the stronger the GAS'ing becomes? I'm sure there's an equation for it somewhere...
5. Thanks for all the votes guys! Good to know people still love the heavy riffs!
6. Thanks for the kind words! It was a real joy making it, and everyone's entries this month have been superb, even if a little abstract and widely interpreted! Every month for the last year or there about's I've started one and gotten side tracked along the way, so glad I'm finally able to finish one!
7. Not having had many rigs, I am pretty happy with my current OBT 500 and OBC 1x15, couple that with my m80 for a chunk of dirt on the end!
8. Here's my entry... Excuse all dodgy playing of the guitar... https://soundcloud.com/ben-webb-15/puppets-of-the-revolution-master
9. We treat them like royalty, take time to chat to as many as we can. If you loose that connection with the fans then they'll stop coming to shows!
10. Be careful what you promise bands / artists, don't say anything that 'could happen, or might happen'. Only discuss things that you can definitely deliver on!
11. I've done guide tracks of all my instruments but finding time to get down decent takes is very difficult!
12. Grosse Point Blank has an awesome feel good soundtrack! Has seen me through many a car journey nice and loud! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JoEhgUXxKg&list=PLK_OQwZVYz9G71luKKrEhnLapSQRdqKw_ Think this playlist is missing Ace of Spades - Motorhead
13.
Oh no , she can sing , if Bens composition is half decent I figure my singing on it should bring it down a peg or two
Haha fat chance of mine being half decent!
14.
I am desperately trying to get anyone I know who has got a half decent voice to replace my sad efforts at delivering a lyric
Was going to ask if anyone wanted to drop something down on mine when it's nearer completion!
15. Myr Current Rig, thinking of adding a matching 2x10, and maybe a chorus or compressor some point this year!
16. Hey Jude? get everyone in the crowd singing 'that bit'
17.
Would that be a false beard then?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Smiffys-Long-Beard-Tash-Brown/dp/B000MHK894/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1420730723&sr=8-14&keywords=beard No one else takes theirs to band meetings?
18. Not used it myself but looks like it's for guitar and bass only, is that what you wanted to record? Maybe try something like this; http://www.ikmultime...s/irigmicfield/ The video front would have thought an ipad would be better and easier to do video editing on, as it's larger and the apps tend to be slightly more accessible on the larger screen size.
19.
almost all the multi band bills I've played on there's one kit and the drummers bring their breakables except maybe the headliners, changing a drum kit for every band would be a nightmare. If your drummer insisting on using his own kit I think he's being a bit of an arse, if I've got the wrong end of the stick except my apologies
This is very standard practise. The only time you won't get to use the headliner's kit is if they are a touring band and you're the local support band, but you'd be expected to bring everything the promoter tells you to anyway or not go on stage!
20.
Now factor this up by nine basses.
how do you use 9 basses that much?
21.
seriously there are ways to get a good sound out of a kick drum without cutting a hole in the front head
Put a trigger on it and use sampled MIDI?
22. I will replace a whole set, but to be honest only do so 3 times a year, so £30 every 4 months isn't the worst amount to have to fork out
23. If you need to have a band meeting, probably best to have someone in the hotseat with some paper outlining what needs saying / deciding and writing down any decisions that get made, If there is no structure they'll end up like a bunch of people sitting around having a chin wig....
24. I'm thinking of a RATM mock up... Funky & Heavy
