So if someone were th buy this, then his dad wanted it back, how would you stand legally ? should ebay pull the listing if the seller is not the owner ?
yeh i tried that m8 but sound was still coming thru`
So just put a jack plug - with nothing connected to it into the FX return, that should remove the input to the output stage ( Yeah OK ) and no sound comes out.. Then use the FX send/line out to drive whatever you like. Easy innit ? or did I misunderstan the question ? Bit early for me yet.

Best if you use something like these. The screw terminals in wired IEC plugs - Thats what theyre called - are usually pretty crap, and you cant trust the cord grip. Dont forget they aint fused either. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5m-Kettle-Extens...=item3f00d3c981 Always assuming that your amps use kettle leads anyway. Moulded leads much better for mains.

Assuming its onlt there when you have your Bass / efffects plugged in. Is it a hum or a buzz ? Does it go away when you touch the strings or other earthed metalon your bass ? One last point, do you have dimmer switches in your house ? even if in a different room they can cause a orrible buzz.
-
Wary, I dont often buy much from them anyway. Happy with the kit I have and no intention of changing in the near distant future. So its just strings and stuff, usually online these days. Years of Music shops around B'ham, Leicester and sometimes London mean I'd be more likely to trust a used car dealer than tha salesman in most - though not quite all - Guitar shops to be honest. No offence meant to those forum members in the trade though.
Good on you, mate. Bands with this attitude make it easy for my pub band to look and sound great. That's why we always get rebooked on the good nights.
Not sure what your point is. If your not enjoying it, and not earing enough to make it worth your while - what IS the point in doing it?
-
Enjoy it as has already been said, otherwise unless its for more dough than most pubs pay, wheres the point ?? Know when to quit. Take your bass off after the last number and see if anybody actually shouts for more. I been with no end of bands who do encores for indifferent audiences, or stand around after the last number on the set list waiting to do one. Smacks of fishing for praise to me. Theres truth in the old saying about leave em wanting more !
"Never understood that metal detector. Was it a heavy metal Cucumber ?" - In the demo version of the film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGfZOpzfxFM (about 9 min) it's a load of small change in a hadnkerchief. For some reason it became a foil wrapped cucumber in the full film. There are a few other details that make more sense once you've seen the demo. There is also a deleted scene where a roadie is seen wrapping said cucumber. I am a total Spinal Tap nerd.
Must be old age, I was wondering why it was wrapped in clingfilm. Great Mustache though innit. A must for all the best Bass Players and not even mentioned on the 'How to play on stage' video.

Never understood that metal detector. Was it a heavy metal Cucumber ? Anyway, Bananas and rolled up socks look a lot more realistic. Bratworst is harder to get, but Walls Cumberland get a bit clammy during a long set...lol

Aah Bratwurst, So thats what I been doin wrong. and not showing em my Cucumber of course. Oh well, y'live and learn !
I'd look at the caps before you look at the valves.
I intend to replace all the usual suspects, I got it second hand about 18 years, and its been unused since, It has 4 odd, - different makes - 6L6s in so they will have to go, along with the screen feeds which have been replaced with 390 ohm 1 Watts by somebody else in the past. When these were current amps, and I was an engineer in consumer electronics I must have repaired dozens of Fender valve amps, along with most other amps from the time. But that was back when valves from mainstream manufacturers like Mullard etc. were the norm, Chinese valves were unheard of, and Russian ones only seen in Rigonda Bolshoi radiograms. 35mA bias is from memory, so might not be perfect. Which is why I asked the question.
-
I’m going to refurb my old Bassman 100. Thinking of either Chungyang or Russian Military grade 6L6s Anybody on the forum got any experience of them, which are better, last better etc ? Bias at 35mA, or anybody know better ?
-
Hard cases are a pain just on account of the size, OK your using a van, or if your back seat is empty you can use that, but otherwise they don’t fit in anywhere. Having said that, I always usd one till recently. Nothing to do with protection from scrathes etc. In this case, within reason I don’t care much, the bass in question is for playing, not for polishing and is not just roadworn. Battered would be a better description. Sorted the busted tuner now, thanks to Bass Doc. Really helpful guy.

Prefer 3, or 3 plus Vocals.
Bananas, cranberry juice, and ready-salted crisps. All are good for the circulation, which in turn should hopefully put cramp at bay.
So would Aspirin help ? I have similar roblems, mainly with tha base of my thumb though. Your not alone mate, but in my case I think its just old age.
I'd be surprised if that was an accident in the gig bag that did that. Had that been cracked while carrying the bag I'd expect the wood to have been damaged and the key to be bent. And it would be unusual for only the third tuner to be caught. Don't write off gig bags just yet.
I gigged it 3 weeks ago and it aint been out of the bag since. And the shaft is bent. If I'd had it in the hard case it would have been protected from whatever its been bashed aginst wouldnt it.
-
For the last year or so I've been using a gig bag. easier to carry, get in and out of the car etc. Just picked up my old P bitsa, and found one of the tuners a bit stiff, on account of it being cracked and the shaft slightly bent. Just wondered if anybody on here recognises the type/make. I can remember seeing a lot of them around years ago. They were really good, nice and smooth and it never went out of tune. I'd rather replace it with the same if I can find some. Not sure what the metal is, wonder if I could get it brazed.
