1.
Absolutely brilliant! I'm seriously looking for this to buy on DVD. Steve
Here it is: Stevie Wonder: Live At Last I can thoroughly recommend it too.
 2. Am I allowed to mention my S1 Classic 5? My first venture into Status territory and, nearly a year down the road, I'm still loving it!! Thanks to giblett123 as always.
 3.
First of all,I wouldn't bother with that TAB-see if you can find a proper lead sheet-it'll make more sense. Basically(because it's late and I'm tired), 'So What' is just two chords,Dm7 and Ebm7. In that case, the simplest way to approach it is with the Dorian mode, which works perfectly over a minor 7 chord. A Dorian mode is basically a minor scale with a raised 6. Try using this as the basis for walking through the piece. Also,go and listen to how Paul Chambers plays it on 'Kind of Blue'. I hope this makes sense-if it doesn't,just ask.
+1. Makes perfect sense to me.
 4. Interesting!! I've been using the HA400 for precisely the purpose the OP requires fro the last year or so without incident.
 5.
would a small mini mixer not work the same way? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Behringer-Eurorack-U...=item415072a0f7
I suspect it would indeed, but the HA400 can be had for just over twenty quid brand new!!
 6. Quote from OP: "I need something that is very light and no effects like pandora"
 7. +1 for the SansAmp BDDI.
 8.
Nah, have always thought tributes that try and look like the real artists look a bit daft!!
The fees tend to increase dramatically though.
 9.
Thanks chaps, SFX, Earwig, Vox Bass miniheeadphone amp, I have never tried these and was hoping for anyone to shed some light. the Behringer one though looks good. I had a Bass pod XT live which I sold and, to be fair, its not the portable sort that you take if you travel abroad or are away with work and want to play in the hotel room. I just need something sturdy, decent and cheap. Probably difficult to meet all thre criteria. Will look at the Behringer. Thanks again Fatos
I would certainly say that, from the experience I have had of it, the Behringer does indeed, meet each of your three requirements. It's never given me any problem at all.
 10.
I'm always dubious about Behringer kit, but even they cant get this too wrong - can they??
That's precisely the attitude I had when I ordered mine!! I'm happy to say that, nearly a year later, I can report it has always performed perfectly. I thought it was worth a punt at that price and I'm happy to say that it seems I was right.
 11. Should really have remembered this as I use one myself: Behringer HA400 Bomb proof IME and cheap as chips!!
 12. Tascam Bass Trainer? Google for full info.
 13.
Don't get me wrong, since taking mine out of the external casing it's been problem free, i've played through it for ages and all the gremlins seem to be gone. However when i got it i had to send it back twice with 2 seperate faults, even then it kept cutting out (overheating i think - hence the case removal). Fact is it's a bit of a lottery buying one, there are good ones but there's also an awful lot of bad ones with faulty mainboards, sounds like we've been lucky as ours are currently still alive and kicking!
Indeed. I took mine out of it's outer case too a few months ago. Not due to any problems. Simply to save another little bit of weight. It does seem to be something of a lottery, and that can only be detrimental to Ashdown's reputation, however excellent their aftersales may be (and it certainly is in my experience!!).
 14. I guess we all form our opinions at least in part based on our own experience and I've been using the Superfly 500 head regularly for quite some time now with no issues or complaints. I'd only be thinking of a move to the LG 1000 simply to gain more head room and I'd keep the Superfly as a spare/back up. Having said that, my experience with the Ashdown product across the board ( or at least the ABM and Mag series) has all been 100% positive, so maybe I'm either lucky or simply have horribly low standards!!!
 15.
£230 to £250.
Blimey!! That sure is, as you say, a bargain!!
 16.
The 1000w has come down in price and is a true bargain.
What's the street price nowadays?
 17.
Edit: Sorry, I'm always late with these posts! Quick chime-in: If you set your input gain so that that little light doesn't come on, you can pump up your master- or output- gain pretty good. Next is setting the eq so that you get the most volume from the least turning of that master gain knob. It's been said, lo-mids are your ticket to the land of oomph. Where's J.R.R. Tolkien when you really want him around?... So, if you haven't been through this already: Turn you master gain (volume) all the way down. Play your bass like you mean it, and slowly turn up your input gain... Whe the 'light' begins to blink, back off that input gain. Now you can punch the master volume. Oomph!
Didn't someone post earlier suggesting the exact opposite - i.e. recommending you should crank the master and use only a little pre?
 18.
There's your problems right there! Playing outside - you get no reflection and your sound will seem 'empty' in comparison to inside, and playing 10 feet away from a wall on concrete gives you no help at all. G.
But wasn't it at the jam session, using the "house" bass combo, that he was happy with his sound?
 19. "Never again will I whip things out before writing down what they are." Sentence of the day at the very least!! I think we should all try to live our lives based on that principle.
 20.
Get a Sansamp BDDI, stick all the knobs at 12, including the blend, and be surprised how 'ommphy' it makes anything.
+1. Exactomundo!!
 21. If it's any help to you, "warm and creamy" is pretty much exactly how I'd describe the sound I got with the 2 x 10 combo and the 1 x 15 extension cab
 22. There is also the one where you are starting a set and you hit the first note and nothing. You haven't plugged your bass in. Oh yes, that's an old favourite of mine. Character building though, isn't it?
 23.
1x15 is the prefect match with 2x10... warmth and punch
Absolutely!!
 24. 1 x 15 Ashdown ABM cab. IMHO. Used the Mag equivalent of that rig for years to great effect. Only moved to the Superfly rig due to advancing years and collapsing verterbrae!!
 25. We are most certainly, not remotely, worthy. Enjoy the moment!!
