1.
I'm surprised nobody has asked..... string spacing?
Someone has asked via PM. Although I wouldn't know where to start to measure the string spacing (at bridge?) accurately, research seems to suggest that the norm for this model and age seems to be 18mm, so I'm assuming that would be the case with mine. Have you something to offer in exchange?
 2. Keep 'em coming!!
 3. Anyone hankering after some quality graphite?
 4. Went to see them at the Hammersmith Apollo on Friday 9th October. Didn't hear a note of bass all night and Gavin Harrison's work on the drums was also way back in the mix with the exception of the kick and snare. Couple that with beer at virtually £4.00 a pint and it wasn't the best evening of my life by any means.
 5. To be honest, I daren't actually move it for cash because I know it'll promptly get "absorbed" and I'll end up one bass down and nothing to show for it, so I'd really much prefer to trade if the right beasty appears on the horizon. Having said that, I suppose I'd put the value at something in the order of £700 -£750. The Cherry finish is much richer and darker than it appears in the pics - and much nicer I reckon. Thanks for the dragging the Jazz round the Car Park offer - it's a thought.
 6.
Oi, Mister! Got any pictures?
Done!! Sorry about that - bit of any itchy trigger finger!! I think you might actually know the bass?
 7. I obtained this graphite necked beauty specifically for a new project some months ago. Unfortunately, my involvement in that project has ended and so this rather special bass is now available. Excellent condition apart from minor buckle rash. Includes Hiscox Status branded hard case. Haven't anything specific in mind, but I'm really looking for something which is: 1. 4 string 2. Passive 3. With a bit of mojo No problem in offering me a "player's bass" not too fussed about condition as long as playability is not affected of course. PM with with any ideas. The worst I can do is say no. FYI. I'm more of a Jazz man than Precision, although that is primarily down to the slim neck with I much prefer.
 8. I'm getting this error message when I try to view the clip: "This video either has been removed from Facebook or is not visible due to privacy settings." I'm assuming I'm not the only one?
 9.
Okay, so I got my MAG 300r head about 4.5 years ago. In that time it's done 200+ gigs and a similar number of rehearsals. It's had some fairly rough treatment, although lived in a rack it's entire life. Finally, something has gone wrong. Yes the bulb in the VU meter has expired. A quick phone call to Ashdown and they sent a new bulb, free of charge that arrived very quickly. I have ZERO spare cash so I'm delighted that their product has performed so well over the years, and the (minor) repair will cost me zilch.
That's pretty much been my experience of the brand since I bought my first piece of Ashdown kit in late 1999 - except that nothing has ever gone wrong with anything, other than a lost rotary knob from the front of a combo - and, again, that was replaced free of charge by return of post. Faultless products and customer service IMHO.
 10.
I caught your 80's Mania show last Friday in Folkestone, took me right back 25 years, much cheaper than plastic surgery too. Shame about the poor turnout I thought you guys were good, loved the sparkly Status with the LED's, very 80's. Still got the bruise on my arm from the wife when she caught the look on my face during the Frankie Goes to Hollywood medley (I bet you can guess why - made a middle-aged man very happy!!).
It's just dawned on me (must be an age thing ): Didn't I buy the Jazz in my avatar off you a couple of years ago? Still absolutley loving it, although I did acquire and use the Status Classic S1 5 for the 80s Mania shows as it just seemed more appropriate.
 11.
Just to say this GB used to belong to me and is a very nice instrument at a good price - if i had the cash i'd buy it back again!! peace c
Me too, on all four counts!!

Pleased you enjoyed it though - I had a real blast while I was involved. I know exactly what you mean about the Frankie medley. I had the distinct pleasure of standing a few feet behind that sight at every show.
 13. Playing since 1969. Hugely experienced at all levels, both live and studio. Pro attitude and gear and reliable transport. For the last 20 years, have been on the "tribute circuit" playing in tributes to: The Committments (The Commandments) REM (RIM) U2 (Zu2) Pink Floyd (Pynk Floid) The Beautiful South (The Beautiful Sound) Steely Dan (The Danny Steel Orchestra) Steely Dan (The Dan Collective) Most recently, I have been involved in a touring theatre production (80s Mania) playing an assortment of material from the 80's. I am looking for an established, busy, profitable and credible act, ideally playing quality venues. I am based near Nottingham, 10 minutes from J25 of the M1, but am prepared to travel to rehearsals with the right band Please PM me with any interest. PLEASE NOTE: No BVs!! No dep work.
 14. The prototype with the maple neck.
 15.
damn that makes me miss my old Goodfellow serial no 001 !! bad move ever selling that on!!!! aaaaargh.. no bucks for this unfortunately but hey, its a bump! peace c
Only moved it on (trade) quite recently myself as I needed to access a 5er for a project and the GB was criminally underused by me. If you talk nicely to giblett123, he might let you buy it back off him. On the other hand......................................... Will we ever learn?

 17. A big vote for the Superfly range (head and cabs) from me.
 18. PRS is indeed payable by the venue, but alot of venues cheekily charge the act to "cover themselves" and create a very handy additional revenue stream in the process. Cool eh?
 19. Well, I liked it.
 20.
Don´t know if this has been posted before, but I figure it might be of interest to some of you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WluQwSkm1Tk...re=channel_page Pino Palladino with Simon Phillips and Philippe Saisse. Can´t find any tour dates though...
Marvelous stuff!! Thanks for posting that.
 21.
1985 is the year I was 29. I'm always interested in basses young enough to be my children.
Blimey!! You're only one year short of being the perfect vintage.
 22.
I'm hoping to get along to the Gasworks. Don't know if you've been before - the dressing room's a bit naff but it's stocked with bottles of Carlsberg. Sadly the only bottle opener that was there is in my gig box!!! It's the daddy of bassy sounding stages too.
+1000!! A bit like playing IN a bass bin, if I recall correctly.
