In my experience, Boxing Day - fee-wise - is just a "normal" day because, I think, it isn't a Bank Holiday. But I do agree with Moos3h. It can result is a fairly drastic lack of bums on seats and can be a pretty depressing experience.
Ahhhh....raising cash for a project! hows life treating you?
Sounds interesting. I'm not too bad thanks. Loving the Status and everything was going well until my playing activities came to a grinding halt a couple of weeks ago after a pretty nasty health scare. On the road to recovery and new challenges now though. Still enjoying the GB?
I've been watching that thread closely.... By all accounts we are the big boss' favourite (we even played his private birthday party) so I'd be surprised if they tried to pull that crap on us... If they did, our lead guitarist is MORE than a little tasty with his fists.... and has a martial arts background too...
If by the "big boss" you mean the owner, he IS the man who is responsible for all the crap going on at the moment. He was very verbal in explaining to us how wealthy he was at the same time as being unable and unwilling to pay us our agreed fee and then accusing us of being unprofessional because we wouldn't play a 2 hour set for petrol expenses. A moron of truly epic proportions. I hope he gets his just desserts in a very slow and agonising manner. -
Tempted (though I don't know the weight, I'd better it was 9.5lb+ which would be a factor for me) but then again I've had my eye on a few things of late but timing on anything else isn't great for me at the minute! Good luck.
Cheers mate. I did do the usual "leap on the bathroom scales" job yesterday and it does indeed seem to weigh in at between 9 and 10 lbs, so no lightweight I'm afraid. On the other hand, my daughter is a Chiropractor. -
Nice bass. Surely that is quilted maple rather then spalted though?
You may well be right sir. I took "spalted" straight from the sales particulars when I bought it. I shall edit and make that clear on my original post. You're not going to make me an offer I can't refuse then? -

This is currently a FEELER ONLY as I would dearly love to hang on to this bass but I can see no other way of obtaining a nice 5 string (pref Fender/Warwick/Spector?) at present, and I need to do that reasonably quickly for an ongoing project I am involved with. I'd just like to see what is out there which may or may not be suitable. The GB would come with a cheap but serviceable hardcase and I would need the 5 string to have a case also. I would have no problem in taking a 5 string of slightly lesser monetary value with a cash adjustment in my direction Please PM me if you have anything of interest which you may want to part with. Naturally, I reserve the right to withdraw this at a second's notice if and when I come to my senses and realise the error of my ways!! No straight sales, sorry. Please see below for further details: For Possible Trade: 1995 Goodfellow GBIV Standard Prototype Serial No: 001!!! A unique opportunity to own a piece of British Bass History!! Bernie Goodfellow GBIV Standard Prototype Serial No: 001: Built 25 November 1995. Initialled and dated by Bernie J Goodfellow (B.J.G) at neck joint. (See pics for inscription etc) Features: Maple neck and fret board Spalted (or is it quilted? - not sure, but please see pics) maple EMG Soap Bars Pick Ups Black Input Jack Assembly Black BadAss II Bridge Black Schaller Tuners Black Schaller Drop D Tuner. 9 Volt Electronics The bass has been regularly gigged over the course of it’s busy life and hence there are the usual dings you would expect on a “working” instrument, but nothing major and certainly nothing effecting the playability of the instrument. The black finish on the BadAss II is wearing off on the top corner where the “heel” of the right hand rests when playing/muting and there is also a blemish on the headstock which is about the size of the nail on my little finger. There is also some superficial indentation/crazing at the join of the body and neck where I think someone may have made a poor job of an attempt at tweaking the truss rod Other than that, there is just the odd chip etc on the top and bottom edges of the body and the obligatory slight “buckle rash”on the back. The bass has just been professionally set up and serviced and is fitted with Stadium Elites 40/60/60/100.

For the sake of balance, can I just say that I've been running my Superfly rig for a couple of hours, 2 or 3 times a week, for the last few years completely without incident. The luck of the draw I suppose.

Someone on here put me onto the BestPractice software package which is truly superb for learning material. Slow the track down without affecting the pitch, change the key without affecting the speed, create loops of sections you are struggling with and play them on repeat until you've nailed them - the list goes on. And it's totally FREE!! Get it here: BestPracticeRehearsalTool

Last gig done and dusted. A final weekend of very mixed fortunes, but at least nobody died - I don't think. For obvious reasons, this thread will no longer be update. Onward and upward........................................................

Sansamp Bass Driver - making up for the missing middle
bassicinstinct replied to mildmanofrock's topic in Effects
Yeah - that's what the instructions say - I've tried doing that but it didn't seem to affect the middle at all. Maybe it's just my ears. :S
On the other hand, it could be my ears. -

An even easier solution is to TURN DOWN the Bass and Treble on the SansAmp which has the effect of increasing the mid. That's certainly what I've been doing for more years than I care to remember!! -
Just know what you're getting into. No matter how far up you go, you'll still have to deal with the same old sh*t. My friend played on 3 songs at Live Earth at Wembley. For the first song, the sound guys managed to not even turn on the channel for his acoustic guitar.
That's marvelous!!
