1. Four hours [b]isn't[/b] (or certainly shouldn't be) an extended rehearsal. 2. Totally agree with the proposition of turning up the amp and playing with a lighter touch [b]ALWAYS[/b]. 3. Play more often and for longer periods. Just my two pence worth and all IMHO. It's worked for me for 4 decades. Edit: Kick your guitarist where it hurts.

Still, it's only rock 'n' roll.

It goes without saying that it will obviously depend on how good bad or indifferent the original bridge that you are replacing is. I've only had a BadAss II fitted once and, as far as I'm concerned, it was one of [b]THE[/b] best decisions I've ever made. The difference it made was literally like night and day.

Again, I think it is another very convenient hurdle for them to put in your way of getting a gig. Seems also that the better the venue, the more likely it is to happen. Logical, I suppose, as the top venues have band queueing up to play there.

Ironic really, as most bands' studio demos bear little if any resemblance to what the band is actually capable of delivering "live". Hence, I'm quite a believer in live audio demos and reasonably good quality YouTube vidoe clips of live performance. Potentially, very dangerous to raise the bar of expectation [b]too[/b][i][/i] high eh?

A big +1 to the above. Also be aware that the [b]absence[/b] of a demo CD is a very rapid way for the venue manager to get you [b]off [/b]the phone. If all your ducks are firmly in a row [b]before[/b] you make contact, it makes it much more difficult for them to come up with an "objection" to booking you.

I'd avoid the White Rooms like the plague if I were you. Unfortunately, I don't know of any others in Nottingham which would offer the kind of facilities you are looking for.
