1.
The amps are only £169 now from Sounds live. Well worth a punt I would say
Definitely. I seem to have got a good 'un and it's performing faultlessly. One man's meat etc though eh?
2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this Rig belong to a BCer? Superfly Rig On eBay I'm assuming that, as there is a 4x8 cab there, the rig could be used, at full power, with either the 4x8 (it being driveable either as a 4x8 or 2 x 2x8s), or with both cabs, in which case it is an incredibly versatile set up. As a recent Superfly convert, I can only highly recommend it.
3.
Claire might possibly empathise with your wife quite strongly.
4.
Lemme know how it pans out. I like to know if my recommendations are worthy!
Will do.
5.
Ok folks. So as guessed by bassicinstinct, it was supplied by a company called Silverstone Amp Cover based in Coventry and I found them on eBay. My contact has been with Shaun Dunk - [email protected] I supplied dimensions by borrowing the dimensions form that Roqsolid use on their website - http://www.amplifiercoversonline.com/dimensions/diagrams.htm (click on the appropriate cabinet/head style and it opens a dimensions form. I filled that in, did a screen dump and sent that as a jpg image of my dimensions) The material used is about 4mm thick (but I can't measure it properly) The cover cost £28.00 P&P £5.50 paid via Paypal. It took just over a week to arrive from placing my order. Please can you mention my name, Mark from Bournemouth, as i said I would recommend him if I was happy with the cover, which of course I am. Hope that helps Mark PS should I move this review as such to a more appropriate part of the forum?
Thanks very much for that. I shall look into that tomorrow and see if they can accommodate me. Cheers for your help.
6.
Apols for not being able to recount all the details now.. but age and rock n roll have screwed my memory! I was also originaly going to get an Ashdown cover.. as and when they actually brought summat out, but I already have their covers for my mini cabs and they are just the thin standard cover which doesn't protect from knocks very much and for the price are not very good value. I think it cost me about £28. It also comes with a little badge with the word Silverstone and a Union Jack stuck to a bottom corner, which suits my Ashdown nicely.
Any idea where I'd track the maker down? Is the company called Silverstone?
7.
Let me add my 1/2p worth (sorry at work and can’t remember all the details you see). I have just had delivery of a custom cover made for my Ashdown Classic head. It’s fantastic Black pleather.. (that’s plastic/leather ok!), white piping and it fits beautifully. I sent a list of dimensions and chose my colour combination and voila, I have a lovely padded cover (that is a bit smelly to start with but that goes pretty quick). I’ll post the company details and price later when I get home. I dealt with a chap called Shaun Dunk and he was very helpful throughout. Highly recommended. Mark
Sounds interesting. Look forward to checking it out once you've posted the details later on. I've been trying to source covers for a Superfly 2x8 and 1x15 for a while now and, although Ashdown are planning to market their own, there seems to be some delay with their supplier.
8.
Well, I'm seriously thinking about leaving the band so if you both move to London I could get you an audition. I believe Claire (front and centre in the second shot) is single so you might be in with a chance if you smell right to her.
Blimey!! Don't tell the wife!!
9.
I think, I like your female Singers...
Me and you both mate!!
10. If ever you needed incontrovertible proof that UK Ltd is on it's arse financially, this thread and the one offering the 4x10 Trace combo more than adequately provide it IMHO. Absolutely unbelievable.
11. An absolute snip. Have a free bump on me my friend.
12. +1 on the Zoom suggestion. Awesome piece of kit and brilliant Value For Money too.
13. Nothing for sale on that link as far as I can see.
14. Understood. I was just expecting a PM one way or t'other. Not a problem any way. Pleased for you that you managed to move it so quickly.
15. Still no response either way, so I'll assume that no news is bad news and make other arrangements.
16.
Fingers
Absolutely and undoubtedly true IMHO.
17. As I've not had a reply either way to my PM, can I assume that I haven't bought it?
18. On the other hand, you could use the Superfly 4x8 stand alone cab which was presumably designed and produced for those wanting to use the head to full effect with only one cab.
19. I suspect you're unlikely to get any positive response without a guide price or pics at the very least. Just a thought.
20. Having just gone down the Superfly route, I can VERY heartily recommend it!! I remember trying to downsize/downweight my rig in the late nineties and every dealer I spoke to assured me that I was trying to "defeat the Laws of Physics" and that I'd never achieve what I was looking for. Just a few years too early it would seem.
21. Update today.
22. You can also use: Songza I think this is actually YouTube based, but you get audio only. Very user friendly rehearsal resource IMHO.
