1. Very luverly - have a bump on me.
 2. Judicious muting by non-fretting hand and appropriate EQ as far as I can see/hear. Nothing particularly difficult about it. Check out the Easy Star All Stars album Radio Dread for more inspiration etc.
 3.
Cool, am liking them so far...cheers guys. Not exactly what I was looking for (haven't checked the Mac one yet), but some great tools there. The Vic W one is close, and should help with placement - hopefully transferring it to the real fretboard shouldn't be too much of a trouble. Esp useful are the ios ones, as I'm going on hols for a week soon and can't take the bass (missus' orders) so can practice a bit on the iphone!
This is one of the Mac ones, and it sounds to me like exactly what you're looking for: "And here's a new addition: a very simple program that plays random notes at a tempo and range that you can set. The goal is to play the note back on your own instrument right after it's been played by the program. My friend Jerome Sabbagh brought this one to me; he got it from Ben Monder. The exercise itself couldn't be simpler, but it's a challenge to do it quickly, particularly when the range is wide. randomnotes.zip" Innit?!?!

 5. Trade now achieved. Sincere thanks to everyone for all the interesting offers.
 6. Bump for the added convenience of the discerning evening browser.
 7.
sorry I noticed this "Looking for £400, but open to sensible offers." £400 is more than reasonable in my eyes, thats a cracking little rig for the price!
\+1. Indeed it is!!
 8. Wednesday lunchtime-type bump. Keep 'em coming chaps. Thanks to all for the offers received thus far.
 9. Nice review - and I'd apply pretty much all of it to my own Jazz.
 10.
MB1. Back to the Naughty Step!
Leave it!!
 11.
MB1. I remembered!
I remember when I had a memory like that. Hang on, actually, I don't.
 12.
MB1. ...Are you Mad?...To the Naughty Step with you !, and reconsider your actions this very minute Sir!
Touche!!!!!!
 13. Self explanatory I hope!! A tentative feeler at the moment, but I'm looking at a straight trade (strictly no cash available from me!!) for something tasty and 4 string. Mojo not an issue. The Status is pretty much unmarked apart from the usual light buckle rash. Plays like a dream and offers a ridiculous variation of tonal possibilities IMHO. Includes Status branded Hiscox hard case. Hit me with pics and descriptions of what you've got via PM please.
 14.
B5, I can guarantee that you are a leagues better bass player than me. I can't read, I sit on root notes etc. Your technical ability (whatever it is) is perfectly adequate for many bands, so wave goodbye to this lot and there will be someone else out there in which you will fit in perfectly. Chemistry between band members is more important than ability IMHO
Amen to every last word of that. Music isn't supposed to be a competitive sport (IMHO). It should be enjoyable at EVERY level, otherwise it becomes completely unsatisfying, however much dosh you may or may not make out of it. Stash you gear in the spare room ( don't get rid of it - been there and got the t-shirt) and just forget about playing altogether. Get back to LISTENING to music more - stretch your musical horizons - and it'll only be a matter of time (doesn't matter how long!!) before you become inspired to pick up your bass again. Hope none of that sounds too preachy but, with music, it genuinely IS about the journey and not the destination I think.
 15.
Ah yeah i remember the FS thread now! Strange, you'd think the cabs from that range would be enough, i remember a guy on Talkbass using them with a pair of 4hm 1x15 cabs and finding them more than loud enough.
Agreed!! I'm still using the Superfly 500 Head through the matching 2x8 and 1x15 Superfly and I can only imagine how high the onstage volume would have to be before it couldn't make itself heard!!! Doesn't bear thinking about really.
 16.
Cheers mate, I've bought some today.
Definitely. Been using them for ages and they are faultless.
 17.
Has no-one noticed that at no point does he actually state that the money you spend you will get back? It says 'we pay up front for...' but never says that you will be reimbursed for your expenses. Sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
Everyone I suspect!!
 18. Sounds interesting - never heard of it, I must admit. I use those little brackets which go round the feet of the pedals with a screw onto the board at the other end - thus far, no issue I'm pleased to say.
 19.
I really liked the very 'active' sound that I used to get from my Status S2 classic, and I was wondering if there is any way I can get that sort of sound from my current bass, a Fender Reggie Hamilton jazz 5? I've always been a big fan of the active sound that you get from Status basses, or maybe Stanley Clarke's Alembic sound. The bass feels great to play, but I really miss that old sound. It does have an active circuit, but it doesn't have the really modern sound that I really like. Could I replace the circuit, and if so, what with? The alternative would be to go for a different bass altogether, but I've not found anything that I like as much as this (other than a Spector NS-5).
Do you fancy my 2003 S1 Classic 5?
 20.
Nearly Dan play at Nantwich Civic Hall this coming bank holiday Monday as part of the annual jazz and blues festival. On stage 2pm.
Fantastic weather for it!! Break-a-leg Pete.
