  1. Same here, I went to BD to try a few Precisions, and walked out with a Nash PB63, although I didn't really need to be talked into it. I subsequently bought a Limelight too, but didn't keep it for long, the Nash is so much better for me. Probably the best bass I've owned.
  2. The slow stock update thing happens with the big online sellers too - I bought a JMJ Mustang from PMT ("in stock, next day delivery"), paid for it, and had an email 2 days later saying it was out of stock, and would I be interested in a Precision or Jazz instead

  4. I'm in North Central Bristol, up the Gloucester Rd near the prison.
  5. That's me out then. Actually it was my best friend's Uncle's wife, to be clear.
  6. I have a set on my Mustang, but I find them a touch too bright and zingy.
  7. I would agree with that. I've ordered a set of Lollars for mine - I find the CS pups a bit unresponsive, especially when playing ghost notes. I'm very happy with the Lollars on my P, so I'll see what happens.
  8. Also it's a good reason why they're still together after more than 30 years - no resentment about the way the dosh is distributed.
  9. I'm sure Mozart would be delighted. Nicely played, such a great piece, he was what, 8 years old or something when he wrote it? This was my favourite tune when I was about 4 or 5, and probably the reason I got into music.
  10. I hope it settles with you Anders, it's definitely a looker. If it had a P neck I might have kept it.....hope the gig went well.
  11. Very nice. I have one too, although a '60 rather than '62. Mine is a heavy relic in Sherwood green, which also looks different depending on the light. Yours seems to be identical to mine apart from the fretboard radius, mine is 9.5", yours seems to be 7.5". I really like the U profile neck, I too find some Jazz necks a bit awkward and sort of busy. I'm interested to know how the Fralins work out.
  12. Lovely bass, just not really using it, and it’s far too good to just hang on the wall. I play a Jazz and a Precision, and thought a combination of the two would be useful. Turns out I don’t really need it. Looks terrific, plays great, sounds like a P should. If it was my only bass I’d be very happy. Charcoal frost, brown tort, medium relic, Jazz neck, Fender Custom Shop 62 pickup, rolled rosewood fretboard. Weight 8.4lbs. Original Limelight pickups and hard case included. Collection from Bristol preferred.
  13. That looks very nice indeed. I'll have to look into these........
  14. I have an Ashdown Tonepocket, it's very good with 3 band eq, aux in, and a USB output which I can use to record direct into Garageband. Recommended.
  15. Digitech Bass Synth Wah envelope filter, unmarked, with box. Collection from Bristol, £80 or + p&p £5.
  16. EBS Multicomp dual band compressor, a few months old, as new, barely used, unmarked, with box and manual. Collection Bristol, or £5 p&p.
  17. I bought my Fender CS stackpot Jazz off the shelf from a 'box seller', which, while ludicrously expensive, is pretty much exactly what I would order as a custom build. But that's just luck - the whole point of a custom build is to get exactly what you want, and any luthier worth the name should be able to deliver. Long wait though.
  18. Yes, the Limelight pickups are just not for me, or the music I play. The Lollars on the Nash are the best I've had. There's probably a certain amount of inconsistency in build and quality of components with a custom build at the Limelight price point. Very happy with both of them though, a vast improvement over the Aerodyne PJ I had before. And owning a Limelight, a Nash, and a Custom Shop, I can say that you get what you pay for.
  19. Here's mine, Charcoal Frost, Jazz neck. I got it last week, from here. I've already changed a few things - on went Labellas, and I didn't like the pickup at all, muddy at the bottom end, too forward in the low mids, so I stuck in a set of Custom Shop '62s I had knocking around. Lush vintage tones now. Bass looks great, funky and beat up. Nice weight and balance. I think I still prefer my Nash PB63, but this is sufficiently different to warrant keeping it. Build quality isn't as good as the Nash though, the soldering on the loom looks like it was done by a 10 year old, and the foam under the pickups looks like it was found on the floor underneath the work bench and attacked with the bacon scissors.
  20. Firemist Silver? Spec sheet says Charcoal Frost? Lovely bass, I have a similar one in aged Sherwood Green. This is a good price for one of these. GLWTS.
  21. Limelight P, Nash PB63, Dano Longhorn Custom Shop '60 Jazz.
