After speaking to Mark at bass direct I went for the labella 760. I couldn't have imagined the difference between the types of strings. I already feel comfortable with them and cannot see my self returning to round wounds.
The post is intended, mainly, to express what it playing the bass does for the person. If it becomes a chore or not enjoyable how have they changed the way they feel, if at all, which may help others finding themselves in a similar position.
When playing your bass live, in a studio or at home, how does it make you feel. Are you lost in what you are doing or is it something that has now become repetitive, a chore?
Thank you for all you replies. I have read the various threads and made notes. I tried two local shops and neither stocked flat wound strings for 5 string bass.
Hi. I have a G&L2500 and I am playing more finger style than pick. I love playing blues music. I have never tried Flatwound strings.
With the abundance of choice out there are there any recommendations as to which ones to try.
Thanks
Jon
Hi, Shame I didn't read this yesterday, for the price of the postage I have a 3U SKR flight case in my garage you could have had. Moving so having a clear out.
Without an arsehole we would have to carry around bags of sh*t. Does that make us a sh*t bag....baby
I quite like some of those songs as I grew up with them.

I was 49 and getting fuddy within the grey matter. I wanted to learn a instrument and my son played the guitar so I thought I would try the bass. Never looked back. Wished I started 30 years earlier

Anybody mind if we don't discuss art in this thread? I get the analogy, but there was a very long and at times closely argued thread on that subject a while ago.
Just a polite request...

Apologies, I didn't see the art thread.
If I was to paint my wall white, is it art? If I was to paint a 8'x8' canvas white does it then become art? If a person perceives it to be art then it is.
If a person perceives a note to be musical who can argue that it isn't
Hi,
Please can I have some advise on buying spare parts for my G&L2500 tribute.
Some of the screws on the saddles are wearing and need replacing. Is this possible or should I invest in a new Bridge. If so where in the best place to source these parts
Your help is much appreciated
Jonathan
Hi
Can you tell me if there is any difference between the ST12t and the S15. I have an ST12t second gereration and love it. Would i be doing myself an injustice by swapping it?
Jonathan
I think ticket re sale sites should be made illegal and the people who purchase tickets only to sell them on for a proffit should be jailed. Genuine fans have to miss out or pay grossly inflated prices to see live entertainment. Same thing happens in sport.
It's a bit late now but try registering with the venue, they also have pre sales. I have just got my tickets for the O2 London through their own web site. Also register with companies like Ticket Master and Ents24. They will send emails telling you about events and presales
"Close to the edge" first album. "Going For the One" first live gig. I wish I had as much skill and ability as Chris had in his little finger. Awesome Bassist

Hi,
Can anyone help me, I am trying to find the measurements relating to setting up my bass. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a web site or if known the measurements for neck relief and string action etc.
Thanks in anticipation
Jon
