  1. I play in a covers band and we all have a choice on what music is played, except the drummer who we keep gaged and chained to his seat. We try a song and if it works then we keep it. Seems to work for us
  2. A week or so ago I posted about rack tuners and the majority of responses suggested looking for a Korg Pitchblack Pro or DTR2000 which my bass tutor has. Following a bit of research I found that DTR2000 are selling around the £125 mark. I noticed there was on available to bid on so I did and won, today, for less than £60. Assuming it turns up in the excellent condition which it has been advertised as I would consider myself very lucky indeed. A big thank you to the seller
  3. Shall he stay or should he go now? Phone a friend or ask the audience? This may attract vicious vindictive replies.
  4. Life has a habbit of changing, We grow, priorities change, we move on. Commitment is something we give if we have the time. Good leadership provides a sound platform on which to build. Without change there would be no progress. The more people involved gives us a greater diversity of opinions and thus conflict may ensue. This should be embraced as without conflict there would be fewer dicussions. Basschat is a wonderful site, many poeple give there time to share their experiences and knowledge with the community. They are very much appreciated especially by myself. I do not post as often as some but reading the threads has tought me many things which I would never have thought to ask. Thank you to all of you

  6. Hi, Just got in from attending a concert last night and driving home it occurred to me that many bass players use Fender's. Is this bass still, or has been, the Industry Standard or was there ever such a thing. What about Amps and Cabs? Jonathan

  8. A good mid range priced 5er is the G&L2500. I can recommend this bass,
  9. I played at one a few months ago with my bass teacher. We practiced 5 songs and had a singer join us. I was informed that there was no drummer in the background to keep things moving it fell to me to keep the tempo. Not a prob;lem I thought. How wrong I was, I felt like a rabbit in headlights, the most scary thing I have done since picking up the bass. Needless to say things didn't go to plan, everybody was really kind and afterwards my teacher said to me that it was good because the experience I gained was invalueble and only a hand full of people notice the mistakes. thats the fun of playing live and being placed out of your comfort zone.

  15. My son and I went on the Saturday and we had a brilliant time, hi light of course was meeting Bluejay. There was certainly less to see but I found that the number of people slapping the hell out of high end basses was vastly reduced. This allowed talking at a reasonable level most of the day. I got a lot out of the master classes, Lee Sklar, MT Stevens, Roger Glover and Frank Bello. Looking forward to 2015 already! Keep supporting so it continues.
  16. Got my ticket for Saturday, (weather permitting)
