Ibanez Wheeping Demon WD-7 I play fast punk and gritty rock. Only the strong (soundwise) survive. The WD-7 did. Most Wah-pedals work on bass only in a "clean" environment. If there is serious rock'n'roll guitar playing and thundering drums, most Wahs are simply harmless.

I don't get the point. Why reducing the pedalboard for the sake of reducing the pedalboard? I experience times, where effects keep a'changin, and then there are times,of stability. So what? If an effect isn't used, I remove it. Just to not torture my bandmates too much, I restrict pedal change to 1 per rehearsal.

As long as the music that you hear in your head comes out as you want it to, it really doesn't matter if you perform it on a 4/5/6- or 3-stringed bass guitar.

How 5 different bass grooves change the vibe of a song
marcblum replied to MatthiasBass's topic in Share Your Music
Standard approch: works good, supports the drums, does'n't interfere with the guitar, leaves plenty of spaces, without beeing dull. Standard approch V2: too busy, doesn't work. Doesn't gel with drums and guitar. Pedal Tone: too static, Dull. No tension. Pedal tone + no "1": hook line quality! Etablishes a counterpoint to the melody. Low melody: too weak, nothing that brings a new quality to the song -
I play six only. Too much trouble when switching between string configurations.
What are the controls?
three switches to toogle each pickup individual in parallel mode, so you may choose each combination between "mute" and "all three parallel" two of the pots are dummys, as I think that controls on a bass are a source to altering the sound by accident. the third is a Stellartone Tone Styler
