1. That looks sweet. The pick guard is a great touch, it really works with the CAR finish. Which Seymours did you fit?
2. Wow. I love that scratch plate. Shame about the solo.
3. Congratulations. Not really jealous or anything.
4. I'm selling a 310 4 string. I keep it at work for a noddle when things are quiet. Lovely bass, sounds great through my Zoom B3 and line 6 combo.
5. I'm suprised this hasn't shifted yet Gary. Lovely bass.
6.
The Bass Doc on here. He seems to be the "go to" man for scratchplates. Failing that Mike Walsh of Iceni Zoot fame will do one.
The Bass Doc has fallen out of favour recently. He seems to have some issues and has let a lot of people down.
7. I bought a '83 Fullerton '57RI Precision from a music shop in Chelmsford for £300 in 1997. They even chucked in a new set of strings and a few picks. It had been stripped back to a natural finish and varnished. The gold anodised scratch plate had been painted white. I cleaned that up and I traded on here for a '75 custom build Precision worth over £900.
8.
Whenever our guitarist plays the intro to A Little Less Conversation, the drummer and I sing Angel of Harlem over the top of it. It really annoys him and we just giggle like a pair of idiots.
Love it.
9. 72 is no age these days. There's going to be a lorra lorra tears. RIP Cilla, you were a real star.
10.
I know Adrian Maruszczyk since 2006. He is a great Guy and the Basses are awesome. Yesterday I visited him in his House/Showroom, wich is about 40km from here. I was not alone, as I left him... As you can see: - Elwood 5a - Ash Body - Maple Neck and Fretboard - ABM Hardware - Delano JC5AL Pickups - Glockenklang 2-Bd. Preamp/EQ - 19mm Stringspacing - 4,3Kg
That is a beauty and I don't like black fret markers on maple boards. I might have to change my mind.
11. Beautiful bass and nice playing. I love the tone.
12. No Politics. No Religion. No Sexism. Dick Waving and the Fast Cars.
13. Coming together nicely Sean, can't be long now 'till it's finished.
14. There is so many tracks that have been posted that fit the OP's post that have made me change my mind. This might be due to a bad memory but then again I get the " I loved that track but forgot about it." I really wish we had a like button so I could like others choices. It would give interesting stats. I voted against against the like button when we had the choice but maybe it would be time to review it. I know it would give the mods a nightmare though. What do you think?
15. I was 14 when this came out and it blew me away. It still gives me goosebumps when I hear it.
16.
Not to derail the thread or anything but... Phwoar! Shwing! Hubba, hubba, etc
This. +1. Pass the Kleenex.
17.
PM'd
Thanks.
18. I like green. Nice bass at a good price.
19.
I added a J to my VM Squier P bass last year. I had always played jazzes but a few years ago got serious unexplained GAS for a Precision, so I plumped for the Squier. Once I had replaced the rather rubbish Duncan Designed pickup (very low output from the G string) with a Tonerider, I really enjoyed that classic low end you get from a p-bass. But not long after that I realised I was missing that "bite" you get from a jazz pickup at the bridge, so I got a local tech to route a hole for one, but 5mm closer to the bridge than on a standard jazz bass and added a Tonerider jazz pickup. This, combined with a custom stack-knob wiring kit from KiOgon has given me the best of both worlds - I can have that thunder from the P pup, plus the crack of lightning from the J pup, all at once or on their own or however I want it really.
I'm late to the party as usual. I want to do this to my MIM P. Could you PM me the details and the costs. Nice to hear that I can put some work KiOgon's way and have the kit I want.
20.
I should do a proper comparison at some point but weight wise, the Coronado is 9lb 10oz, the Chowny is 7lb 8oz. Chowny is 22 frets vs 21 on the Fender but feels a smaller guitar, maybe because of the weight and the headstock size. Fender has a bolt on neck and the Chowny's is set. The Chowny has a floating bridge and there's less adjustment possible than on the Fender but I can get it to exactly how I want it so it's not an issue. In terms of control, there's a wider range of sounds possible from the Chowny and the volume controls are wired independently unlike the Fender which is wired like a Les Paul.
Thanks for that. My just kicked in my GAS for a Chowny. Git.
