1. Volume full on, tone rolled back a 8th when I had my '57 RI. My '75 was full on for both. Always use the volume to mute between numbers though. I think a kill switch and no tone knob would be the way to go for me. Just turn the fekker up full and then remove the tone control. Do any tone changes on the amp's eq or effects pedals. Knobs on a bass confuse me. The less, the better.
2. I love the mojo this bass has and not a belt sander in sight. GLWTS.
3. My latest acquisition is been bought for me by my wife to be, no problems here. The rest I keep at work.
4. I have the premium version. I'm sorting out my play lists to use off line so I have loads of music when I'm on my honeymoon in Thailand. I'm also using it for background music at my wedding. Oh look, my 1000th post.
5. A Fender P bass which I'm taking delivery of in a couple of weeks.
6. I was watching that one too. I nearly bid on it myself but grabbed something nice off of here instead. Good score.
7. Nice one Mark, you've got yourself a good gig there Well done that man. .
8.
thanks for this i will take a look, as a kid i loved DP and RB was my idol until i saw how pathetic he behaved, Cannot stand him. favourite album was the gold made in japan album but they never seemed to be able to recreate that sound to a tee. Last time i saw blackmore his playing was disjointed and boring.
I still love the Richie days. They were the first band I ever saw at the age of 14. Richie was my favourite guitarist in my teenage years. Unfortunately, though, you're right, I grow up and realized what a bellend he is.
9. That looks lush. I'm guessing there's no neck dive with the larger body? But the price.
10. Are you going to be using it at Cottiers? It looks great. Shame I'm on my honeymoon in Thailand when you're playing there, I would love to be at that gig. I will be buying the DVD when it comes out. Yes, I am a big fan.
11.
It was a long drive (through weather that the Daily Mail said was killing 7 people a second but well worth it). Lovely lovely bass. Very well built - was it really your first? So glad you didn't end up splitting it. Many thanks....good cuppa too
I think you got a bargain there Buddy, it's a lovely looking bass. If it sounds as good as it looks, you're on to a winner.
12.
Lent out a fretless ibanez musician. Never saw it again.
Did you go blind?
13. I met Philomena on a ferry from Ireland to Holyhead around 1997. My Quo tribute band had just finished a tour over there and our manager knew her well. He managed Limehouse Lizzy as well as us. What a lovely lady. She knew all the guys in Limehouse and was proud that they were keeping Phil's music alive. She was on her way to a Lizzy convention in England and chatted with us for a couple of hours. We all got a kiss and a hug when she got off the ferry and I'll never forget what a warm and wonderful lady she is.
14. Sounds good. I'll check it out on the iPlayer. Thanks for that.
15. Good to hear that it's not a dog. I'm thinking hard about getting one but something else always gives me gas. I would put a Goto bridge on one too, they really add to the visuals of a bass.
16.
I did indeed. A lovely bass in itself with a great 'P' sound.
Bugger,I was about to PM you with an offer.
17. Lovely looking neck. Great score. BTW, did you trade that Godin that you had up for sale?
18.
No mate First gig of the year this Saturday so my no doubt eagerly awaited status update/ post gig feast reviews will continue.

19. Shame. Yours looks fantastic and I will love a p/j in that finish.
20. That is lovely, do they do precisions in the same finish? Very classy.
21. This baby. I sold it on here and know who has it. Unfortunately, he sent it off to have LED's fitted on the side fret markers and the guy drilled through the fretboard and ruined it. It wouldn't be the same with a new neck. .
