1. I met Philomena on a ferry from Ireland to Holyhead around 1997. My Quo tribute band had just finished a tour over there and our manager knew her well. He managed Limehouse Lizzy as well as us. What a lovely lady. She knew all the guys in Limehouse and was proud that they were keeping Phil's music alive. She was on her way to a Lizzy convention in England and chatted with us for a couple of hours. We all got a kiss and a hug when she got off the ferry and I'll never forget what a warm and wonderful lady she is.
 2. Sounds good. I'll check it out on the iPlayer. Thanks for that.
 3. Good to hear that it's not a dog. I'm thinking hard about getting one but something else always gives me gas. I would put a Goto bridge on one too, they really add to the visuals of a bass.
 4.
I did indeed. A lovely bass in itself with a great 'P' sound.
Bugger,I was about to PM you with an offer.
 5. Lovely looking neck. Great score. BTW, did you trade that Godin that you had up for sale?
 6.
No mate First gig of the year this Saturday so my no doubt eagerly awaited status update/ post gig feast reviews will continue.

 7. Shame. Yours looks fantastic and I will love a p/j in that finish.
 8. That is lovely, do they do precisions in the same finish? Very classy.
 9. This baby. I sold it on here and know who has it. Unfortunately, he sent it off to have LED's fitted on the side fret markers and the guy drilled through the fretboard and ruined it. It wouldn't be the same with a new neck. .
 10. Les. Have you gone off kebabs?
 11.
I thought I'd update this topic. I was invoiced for one week's wage, due to the contract that I'd agreed to. I asked my agent that if I paid it, would it result in future work. He said yes. I paid the fee and on the same day, he sent me through a contract for another job with another company that begins in January, and we chatted on the phone about working together in the future and all seems positive.
Nice one. A lesson learned and no harm done. I would call that a good result.
 12. I had a '73 4001 fretless mapleglo and it had dot markers on the neck. As Beedster said, the tone when played with a pick was awesome. I used round wounds though and loved the sound of them.
 13.
It's my 63rd birthday today but no gig until March 7th and that's at a 70th birthday party and we will be playing a full set of Dylan songs.
HAPPY Birthday. Keep up the good work.
 14.
Sometimes. I think one of my issues are that I have an incredibly long neck and it's somewhat freakish depending on what angle you look at me. Also the fact that I simultaneously manage to be skinny and have a beer belly may have something to do with it.
You are Pino and I claim my £5.
 15.
It's all in the posture, darlings. Stomachs in, shoulders back and down, luvs. :-)
I have no bum, I'm so skinny. If I did this, I'd look like a boomerang. That's just a throwaway comment.
 16.

The thing is, as I understand it, Jool's Hootenanny is not actually live, but pre-recorded in October/November sometime. If this is the case surely Wilco, NWR or the drummer would have looked back at the footage the next day and vetoed it? - because it is truly pretty bad.

I have got to agree with this. Most "live" stuff on the telly is pre-recorded, why did they let a bit of a car crash though?
 17. That neck is stunning. Unbelievable condition, what a beauty.
 18. I have been following this thread for a while now. Some great points have been made and no aggro, is this Basschat? I'll be 60 in 39 days and can't wait to get out playing live again after a long layoff due to health issues. Blue, if you ever get over to the UK, drop me a PM and I'd love to buy you a pint. You're a cool dude.
 19. I gave Wilko a break considering his recent health problems, I was just glad he's still here. I was disappointed with Norman though, he was all over the place and the drummer was crap. I expect they had had a few visits to the free bar IMO.
 20.
Ruby is lovely. I've been lucky enough to back her, and she's absolutely dynamite.
You get some very cool gigs, well done that man.
 21.
There is no fuss just people expressing an opinion. If any fuss is being made it's by those who seem to like the programme.
No problem with opinions. I can't stand Jools Holland though but I like to see bands playing live. I can live with him if it means I see some live music. I know it was recorded months ago but you get my drift.
 22.
Bought a. P bass j from thoman brilliant anniversary ,60 years edition one
That looks like a very nice bass. Give us a review when you get it.
 23. I'm watching it now on the iplayer to see what the fuss is all about. Norman is brill as usual and Wilko is still alive. What's not to like.
If there's something on telly that you're not enjoying then turning it off (or over)
Tried turning it once but it looked stupid with the stand in the air and all my dvd's fell on the floor.
 24. This is my favorite P bass colour. I wish I still had it.
