1. Sounds great Mark, just like a classic Jazz should. That Fender logo makes all the difference.
2. I love the attention to detail on this Mark, the corner of the scratch plate in particular. Enjoy your new old bass.
3. Doh. I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and I'm disappointed in the crap that I can get compered to what Apple Apps can offer. I dislike the Apple ethos but I want one for the apps. The Moog apps look right up my street, Anyone want to buy a cheap Samsung?
4. That is one beautiful bass. I love the body on this. I can't see it hanging about too long. GLWTS and have a bump on me.
5. That sounds lovely with the flats on, great tone.
6. Engraved scratchplates sounds like a winning idea. Good luck with that.
7. Good man, a break can give you some focus on what you want to do. Have fun and enjoy learning new things. You know it makes sense.
8. Wow5. That's a bit nice. Good score.
9.
While we're on, did I ever post this clip from a gig I did a year or so ago? I probably did, but I'm going to post it again. http://youtu.be/j1Ys3SBl17g?t=5m59s
Good video but John Illsley has let himself go a bit.
10. Stevie, got the download and just loving it. Congratulations on a great album. I can't stop playing it. I love the whole vibe of it. Superb playing all round. I can hear some Yes influence on it, right up my street. Well done that man, sorry, that band.
11.
What are Tribute news stories?
Last night's Sky news, today's press. Duh.
12. I thought that this was going to be about Quasimodo. Oh well.
13.
Perhaps we should start a tribute topic . . . .
Aren't newspapers already doing this? Tribute news stories?
14. When I was gigging regularly, I loved the zing and clank of new strings. I would change the strings on my '75 P bass every 2 gigs back in the day. On my '57 RI, I would change the strings every 4 weeks. I must have mellowed.
15. I've played in 2 tribute bands, a Wishbone Ash clone in the '70's and a Status Quo one in the '90's. I've made friends with Martin Turner, all of the Quo and gigged with John Coghlan as part of Coghlan's Quo. With the Quo tribute band, I've played in front of 3000 people who dug it and I travelled with the band all over the UK and Ireland. Loved every minute of it.
16. I've just taken charge of this.
17. That looks great. A clear scratch plate will be the business. Congrats.
18. I've just received a SB310 from Phsycoandy off of here and it great. I'm going to have it setup to my liking and restring it. It's so light and the neck is nice and slim. Just the thing for my arthritic old fingers. Enjoy yours.
19. Great bloke. Held a SGC Nanyo310 for me until I got back from holiday and it arrived expertly packed earlier than I expected.
20. You could try dropping his mum Philomena an email. She is a mine of information and a lovely lady. She also has a facebook page I think.
21. I've met a few and they have all been great blokes. I mean, who on earth would lend a stranger a bass and trust you with it. Only a Basschatter. Thanks again Paul_5 and I hope you enjoyed the scotch I hid in your gig bag. I also met 2 on one night, Pete Academy and Lurksalot, well, it was a Nearly Dan gig. Great night and great company and will do it again when Lurks and I can get our diaries to match. Loads more Chatters I want to meet and put faces to the PM's we have shared. I fear liver damage though.
