1.
No, I'm talking about the mobile site. There's a massive difference between them (I occasionally swap to 'full' to do something I can't on 'mobile') so I know the difference. The small black dot to the left does take me to the right place when I eventually hit it accurately.
Ok, my bad. I get what you're saying now. I don't like reading the For Sale section on mobile as I can't see where the seller is based. The mobile site had some limitations but I can live with it.
 2.
I beg to differ. I personally find the little blue circle for 'go to first unread post in thread' VERY hard to hit at times. Sometimes I go through 4 or 5 cycles of:

carefully try and and hit the circle
oops I'm at the first page of the thread, must have missed.
scroll down to find the previous page button in safari, hit the button
see the original page but with the loading overlay covering the blue dot
refresh the page to get rid of the overlay
carefully try and hit the circle ....
This gets a bit wearing. Using Talkbass via it's own app (which is essentially Tapatalk) is a joy by comparison. Could we please have Tapatalk enabled for basschat ? OR ... you could enlarge the target area for the 'first unread post' so it's easier to hit. But using an app like Tapatalk is actually much easier for me. (Apologies for cross-post)
Sounds to me that you're are using the full site on your phone instead of the mobile site. I don't have this problem on the mobile site. The small black dot next to the left of a thread takes me straight to the first unread post.
 3. That's a belter Gary, I wish I had the dosh. GLWTS.
 4. Sad news. RIP Lou.
 5. Phil. I love you man. I would have missed this otherwise. Sky+ is now set.
 6. I've voted but it was the hardest choice for me so far. Bilbo, I normally dislike solo DB and I used to play one. You changed my mind on this today. Thanks for that. Well done. Skol, as usual a great track. You are a seriously talented musician. I normally vote for you as you tick all the boxes for me. Lurksalot. That is a really cool track. Love it. In the end, the boy got my vote. Your track just touched a nerve in me. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.
 7. Good to have you back on board Jon, your knowledge of Jap Crap has been sorely missed,
 8. Great video and track, Nigel. Shame you missed out. Kit and the band just go from strength to strength. Me and the OH love her music and you all should be proud of yourselves. I hope Barry's FB helps you out.
 9. I'm going to have to miss this gig. The OH has taken the day off work and I have to take her to dinner tonight. Bums.
 10.
Something similar at the beginning of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93o_cUhhBfI
I loved that. Thank you.
 11.
Errr, maybe!! As you know, I have picked up a new addition last week, and it is a bit special, I'm still sleeping with it, and carrying it everywhere with me, once the honeymoon period wears off, I'll get some pics up on here!
I want to see pictures of your new purchase, you have my taste but I don't have the dosh to back it up. If you say it's special, it's going to be a great bass. Edit to say: Chili, your bass is stunning for it's age.
 12.
Anytime mate. Just wave a vodka and coke at me and you'll have my undivided attention. lol
Will do, best I don't bring the car then. Nice.
 13. As I said on an earlier thread, you're not helping my GAS. I really have to go and try one out. My RA is getting under control and I am looking for a good bass without going mad on the spends ( she tells me). It just looks right to me, I hope it plays as good as it looks.
 14. I'm going to meet the beast on Saturday, I'll have a look at the bass as well. Looking forward to the Manchester gig, Rich. What would be the best time for a natter?
 15. I had a '83 Fullerton made '57 RI P bass that I bought from a shop in Chelmsford that didn't come with a case or gig bag. I took it home in a bin liner as it started to rain. When I sold it, I met up with the buyer and he brought his own gig bag to take it home in. He didn't want the Hiscox even though I had priced the bass to include the case. Win/Win.
 16.
Yeah definitely. I suppose people that play basses as a solo instrument and do lots of clever things on it probably don't have any desire to play guitar, but I personally believe bass is a support instrument in a band and I like being that support. There is nothing better than dropping out for a few bars during a song then coming thundering back in and seeing everyone in band smile because everything sounds so good. I'm not a particularly flash player (but nor I am a root notes only all the time kind of player) but I love the idea that without me playing it would sound rubbish!
This is so true. I love noodling on my acoustic guitar but bass is where my heart is in a band situation. I used to get p*ssed off when someone would come round to my house and see the bass and say, go on, play me a tune. Twunts. It don't work like that. That's why I bought a guitar to shut the 'ckers up.
 17. I've signed up again. I joined up for this year as I just want to embarrass the tight gits at work who gave me sod all the last time I did it. I put into everyone elses' charity but they gave nowt the last time. Just because the fat bird in accounts had a better tash than me after 2 days, never mind a month. I'll beat her this year, I've bought a strimmer just in case she's in the lead again. I hope to double my last amount at least.
 18. I would get it setup by a pro, I'm sure that will sort you out. The right set of strings and a good setup makes the world of difference. If not, shoot yourself.
 19. I would like to try a 4 string.
 20.
I have just been out only to come waltzing back in to this thread to find it up to five pages.....
Well, there's nothing wrong with your sight reading.
 21. This is why I love this forum. Nice one guys, I've learned something new and useful today.
 22. I've just borrowed a Legend branded P bass from my niece. It hadn't been used for years. I've given it a shim, a clean, new strings and a set up. I'm enjoying playing it daily as much as my RA will allow. With my limitations, it would be daft to spend out on a more expensive bass, it wouldn't make me a better player or relieve the RA.
