2.
From what I understand Chandler's in Kew was owned and run by Doug & Charlie Chandler. Doug got divorced and left/lost the shop during that. Charlie then also left Chandler's in Kew with some of the tech's and set up Charlie Chandler's Guitar Experience in Hampton Wick. Some of my friends & I have had work done in CCGX and can highly recommend them.
Thanks for that update, I didn't know this. I used to go to Kew when Charlie was in charge.
3.
There is another Chandlers in Hampton Wick, just over the Thames from Kingston. No criticism of that one, and no idea whether or how they are linked. Which one did you use Bassman Sam?
I always used the one in Kew, I didn't know there was another one. It's a shame if the Kew one has lost it's way, they were always a bit pricey but were totally worth the premium.
4. I'm sorry to hear this. I always used to use Chandlers when I lived down south and they were very good at making sure that everything they had on sale was well set up. Their on site techs were excellent and if I ever needed work done on a bass, they were my first choice. I would hate to think that their standards have slipped as they had a great reputation for quality and a high profile clientèle.
5. Nice one, glad it went well. Best take your own sarnies next time.
6. More bad news. The grim reaper has been busy with musicians lately. RIP JJ.
7. Tough choices again this month. Lowdown and Skol had strong entries again but Discreet pips it at the post for me. Well done all, I love hearing the offerings every month, keep up the good work.
8. This is turning out to be one hell of a bass bash. Ace.
9. Outstanding video and what a great band. Love it.
10. 8. Count me in. Nothing to bring but if anyone from Crewe/Northwich area needs a lift, PM me. I have room for basses, amps etc.
11. This is what makes life interesting, good luck and enjoy it.
12. Belated Happy Birthday Clarky, enjoy the Sanatogen.
13.
Classic rock indeed and very moving watching their reactions. In fact, I think I've got something in my eye after watching that. Thanks for posting!
Not just me then.
14. Wow. What a great version and line up. Thanks for posting.
15. Nice to see a bit of Quo love. Great live and don't take themselves too seriously.
16. I'll be happy with any date as long as my consultant will let me drive again after my wrist op. I'm seeing the occupational therapist on Friday, so hoping for good news. Fingers crossed but that might just be a side effect of the RA. I want to try out different basses to see which would be best suited for me to get back into playing again.
17. Bump. Now the album is on Spotify and after giving it a listen, bought it. You've in a great band there Clarky and it's a cracking album. Well done that man.
18. Can't find it on sky+. Bugger.
19. I'll have some of that, count me in.
20. I tried to log in and would only let me if I bought a VIP pass. Bugger.
21. I like it but loose the pup logos. Plain black ones would be classier. Love the pick guard shape, 3 ply bwb would be nicer.
22.
I quite like Jazz Basses, so maybe I'd get one of those. OK so maybe I wasn't ambitious enough. I never thought of having a bass made of maple, that is pretty outrageous. f*** it, I'll have a Jazz made from tits.

23. My mate's original '62 P bass in white and rw neck and tort sp. He loaned it to me for my first ever gig in 1969 and I have been lusting after it ever since. Oh, and Martin Turner's '66 Thunderbird. Love the tone he gets from it.
24. Your stick man is a wimp. My old one has had 4 heart attacks, died twice and is still moaning about the bloody singer being flat. Love him to bits. Hope yours gets well soon, a good one, with a pulse, is hard to find.
