I've got a Phil Jones Briefcase for sale. All the specs you could want here: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp..._Briefcase.html I'd prefer pickup from Glasgow as it quite heavy (28lb), but would consider posting it within the UK (which I'm guessing would cost around £30). It's a really great sounding cab, but I no longer require it. Currently goes for around £450 new. So, make me a half decent offer (maybe around the 300 quid mark?) and I'll likely accept. Cheers, Douglas.

5 String jazz-type bass. The bass body is a solid 2 piece spalt/flame maple body. As you can see from the pictures, it's nicely figured and a comfortable shape. Whether sitting or standing, I found that it balances really well. And it's not too heavy. On ther rear there is a twin battery compartment and a spacious control cavity. Inside the cavity is an expensive and rare Schack three band Pre-amp (Note these are not made anymore) The pre-amp has three sets of mini switches on the circuit board for even more tonal range. These are the pre-amps that are put in high end Fodera basses. It is currently running on 18volts however the pre-amp is also designed to handle up to 24volts if you so wished. For more info on the pre-amp, see http://www.thebassgallery.com/schackelecy.html The pickups are Bartolini Jazz Bass pups. As you can hear from the sound clips (see below), between the two pickups there is a wide range of tone possible and it's very clean sounding. Also installed is an active/passive switch & a mute switch. The controls are as follows: balance, volume, bass, mid, treble. The jack is a strat style plate which is securely mounted on the back of the control plate. It is angled so that you can easily thread the lead through your strap pins without stretching your cable unneccesarily. Currently the balance pot is just a normal linear pot. This means that there are only three positions: bridge solo, neck solo and both pickups full on. This can be replaced with a proper balance pot (about 3 quid) to acheive full balance controls. As you can see form the picture, one of the control knobs is missing. A replacement would be very cheap, I'm sure. The neck is a high quality Mighty Mite 5 string P bass neck, maple with rosewood board. 4/1 headstock (This style of headstock is no longer made by Mighty Mite). Scheller lightweight tuners. High quality string tree. The original 4mm truss rod has been replaced with a stronger 6mm rod. The frets have been filed and dressed. The bridge is a high quality/mass Schaller 5 string bass bridge. Dunlop Straplocks have also been installed. The bass comes with a Kinsman Hardcase. I'll also through in a nice leatherette strap with the Dunlop pins installed. I bought this second hand from a fellow BassChatter last month. As much as I want to love this bass, it just isn't right for me. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just feels too different to my previous bass (a 36" scale Overwater). However, it sounds great and has a realy slim, fast, silky smooth neck. The body has a nice natural finish (though I must admit, the varnish on the varnish isn't the most professional I've seen) and the electronics and hardware are really excellent. When I bought the bass, the action was too low, so I took it along to my prefered luthier and had it set up. While I was at it, I got the nut replaced with a nice graphite one. Also, the neck needed realigned. When I got the bass back, there was a marked improvement and everything now feels right and intonation is spot on. The action is still nice and low and you'll have no problem pulling out the chops on this bass. I'm looking for somewhere in the region of [s]£600[/s] £500. I'm open to sensible offers and I'll send it out anywhere in the UK for £20, or you can come and pick it up from Glasgow.

I have an AMT SP25B microphone up for grabs. This isn't the tailpiece version, it's the one that mounts to the side of the bass (e.g. upper bout). As shown here: http://www.appliedmicrophone.com/products/show/12 Package includes: AMT SP25B Bass MIcrophone AMT "Super Pre Amp" Special Clamp design for acoustic bass mounting. Hard shell Blo-mold protective case. The mic and clamp are in really excellent condition. The Pre-amp box has a few scuffs here and there, but condition is otherwise excellent (clean, non-scratchy pots, etc.) Looking for around the £380 mark. Will ship within UK for free. Cheers, Douglas.
That price is heartbreaking . Sign of the times I suppose! :-(
Yes, I'm really sad it has to go for such a low price. I'm only selling it because I need the money. It just seems such a pointlessly meagre amount. It's definitely a buyer's market at the moment, that's for sure.
Niiiiiiiice bass !! what is the scale length ? I see Overwater scale's can be 36'' ..... Are you open to trades?
wow, i really hope some people get bidding on this! did you contact overwater to see if they could help you shift it?
Yes, I did get in touch with Overwater, but they weren't able to help. I seem to remember Laurence mentioning he was thinking of having a place where people could list their second hand Overwaters, but nothing ever transpired. I'll maybe get in touch with them again and let them know it's listed on e-bay... hopefully they could pass the word around a bit. I'm kind of gutted it's come to listing it on e-bay, but such is life

Okay, well... it's up on e-bay. Starting price £650: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Overwater-Progress-I...id=p3286.c0.m14
Well, I never did get a reasonable offer for the bass. I've been very patient, but this is my last call - anyone interested? If not, I think it'll have to go on e-bay :-( Surely someone out there is tempted... surely!
Yes, I know. I thought it would be quite easy to shift. My offer of £1250 was really just a tempter. I'd be hoping for offers over that - nearer the £1500 mark. I still think it's worth more than that, but... offers over £1250 for now.
Unless you're desperate for the monies, I would wait a while after the new year when people have disposable cash again - it is less than a week before Christmas after all; I know I don't have anything to spend!
Okay then - here we are... it's after Christmas and I'm trying one more time. Anyone interested in this bass for £1500?

Excellent (mint?) condition Wizzy 112 cab. Priced low for a quick sale. Prefer pick-up in Glasgow, but will consider shipping is buyer pays. Bought new from Overwater late last year. Here are the specs... http://www.overwater.co.uk/euphonic_audio_wz_112.htm Douglas.

An Accugroove cab for sale in excellent condition. Includes official Accugroove padded cover. It's a three way (12" woofer, 6" mid, plus tweeters) 400 watts into 8 ohms, 44lbs cab. Full specs are here: http://www.accugroove.com. This really is an awesome and lightweight cab. On sale at the Bass Gallery in London for £745. Mine's in exceptional condition and I'll accept £350 (o.n.o.) - looking for a quick sale, hence the low price. Would prefer pick up in Glasgow, but will consider shipping elsewhere. Douglas.
Hey Douglas That's a smart looking piece of kit - I play an Overwater Progress III Fretless 5 so I know how good these basses are... Good luck with the sale
Thanks for the comments - I've never heard of an unhappy Overwater player. I'm going to be really sad to see it go.

Update on 11th September at 16:55... this bass is currently sitting on e-bay at £730 with just over 4 hours to go. I think I'm going to cry I originally posted this ad up on TalkBass, but a member from this forum suggested I give you guys a try... Up for grabs - an Overwater six string electric bass The bass is a Progress Series III Elite Custom six string, 36" scale length, full walnut overlay top with matching headstock. If you scroll down on this page http://www.overwaterbasses.com/bass.aspx?t=1&c=3 you'll see the specs for the elite. I've attached a couple of pictures. The photos are quite representative, but I reckon it looks even better in the flesh. Condition is very good and it has been well looked after with regular maintenance and set ups at Overwater. I'm not sure what the retail is on these basses now, but when I got mine it was £2690. I'll consider all reasonable offers. I've seen lesser spec'd Overwaters go for £1800, so somewhere in that region would be nice. I'll be really sad to see it go, but needs must. (By the way - here's a sound clip of the bass DI'd - both pickups open: http://www.naturalstudio.co.uk/misc/ns_bass_presampling.mp3) N.B. there are more images on the second page of this post! Cheers, Douglas. P.S. please feel free to PM me to get my telephone number - I'll happily answer any questions you may have...
