Respected players using "clickbait" on Youtube.
Skol303 replied to arthurhenry's topic in General Discussion
In the grand scheme of clickbait, I find this all very 'vanilla' to be honest. There are far worse perpetrators to be found. Some of our most-read news sources being prime culprits. -
Seaford Mods ...certainly not everyone's cup of tea. In fact I imagine that many here will hate them But I personally find them very refreshing - a band (if you can call them that) that's actually saying something at a time when it's most needed. Raw as hell and exceedingly British. I love it.
Here we go, to get us all started
Smashing thanks Doug! Please can you re-post this in the new Noodle Bar thread to avoid any (further) confusion. Link above and down below: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/303620-basschat-noodle-bar/

Wot, no new Beatles film and album thread
Skol303 replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
So until 1981 you were...
I love that Blue has his own emoticon here on Basschat. Not even The Beatles have such accolade. -
So... the Noodle Bar is back! New format: it's going to be a continually running thread in the 'Rec format for sharing short noodles and a place where constructive feedback is encouraged. No voting, so not a competition as such (we feel this fits the spirit of the Noodle Bar much better). To help kick-start the new thread, get sharing your noodles and please try to comment on each other's contributions.

Welcome to the Basschat Noodle Bar™! This is a place for sharing your favourite bass playing noodles: those brief moments of brilliance that may otherwise “be lost in time, like tears in rain”... The rules of the Noodle Bar are simple:

Keep it short: ideally no more than a minute or two. Less is more.
Keep it simple: bass-only tracks are preferred, but accompanying drums and basic instrumentation are also fine and dandy.
Do as thou wilt! Play whatever the heck you like: an original riff or lick; something from your band’s own repertoire; or a well-known piece you’re currently practicing.
Upload your recording to SoundCloud, YouTube or another music-sharing platform of your choice. Once you’re finished, post the link to your recording in this thread. Job done! Comments are encouraged and critical feedback is very welcome regarding technique, tone, etc… but please keep it friendly and constructive, mindful of the Basschat Terms & Conditions and Forum Guidelines. Tuck in!
It reminded me a bit of Two Door Cinema Club's latest album, which is a very good thing.
Thanks Cato! Very kind
Picture sent to Skol303, pending approval
Nothing received as yet. I'll check the carrier pigeon coup...
-
I wondered who to send it to. I'll do it by midday.
Very well done! Please message me with your choice of photo for this month and I'll get it sorted.

Good call Bubs. I'm sure most of us have done "drunk txting" (or the forum equivalent), so don't sweat it. I can't speak for Blue of course, but that guy's been around the block and I'm sure he took it all in his stride. No bad blood...

UPDATE: ...so I ended up coming 3rd out of 252 entrants and won $100. Which I think is about £2.47 in new money. Woot! I'm off to buy a yacht. A really tiny little yacht ---------- Friends, Romans, Basschatters… lend me your ears! Thought I’d share something I’ve been working on with y’all. I produce a lot of EDM, but I occasionally get to indulge my passion for funk and disco as with this ‘ere remix, which has been entered into a commercial competition: CLICK TO LISTEN Bass is a Stingray 5 played by yours truly (recorded DI). Guitars are also my own. The rest is all samples arranged in MIDI. I’d normally post this in the Share Your Music forum. But in this instance I’m unashamedly prostituting myself for votes So if you like what you hear and have a Facebook account, then please support a fellow BC’er and vote. Critical feedback very welcome. Cheers guys

I posted this recently... you'll need to put aside any prejudices about Justin Timberlake and mainstream pop music , but it's well worth a listen as the bass is just great. I can't advise on which specific FX are being used, but I've since come close using an EH BassBalls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ru0K8uYEZWw
...I thought it was about the Thundercats cartoon I loved that when I was a kid and still do lol
You say that... and I too loved Thundercats as a kid... but I watched an episode recently for nostalgia's sake and found it to be terribly 'preachy' - like, moral advice being rammed down throats at every opportunity. I don't remember it being like that as a kid. Which probably explains why I turned out the way I did

Love Thundercat! ❤️ This gets played in my house on sunny days... http://youtu.be/8qGigIMM1Vw

^ Cheers Rob! I'll add this tomorrow night when I'll have access to my laptop. Currently on my phone and it's a bit dicey using that to edit the voting thread (on several previous occasions it's wiped all the votes).
