Good call! ...and use a free service like Photobucket to host your images, instead of uploading them directly to Basschat. It's very easy and convenient. And it saves on bandwidth, helping to avoid the site bloating like an operatic tenor at a free buffet.

VOTED! Ahh... the luxury of now finally having an internet connection at home, and just in time Monsieur Douglas (Dad3353) got my vote this month. My own faves have already been mentioned (especially Me'shell Ndegeocello and Carol Kaye). But I'll also add Este from Haim. She mostly gets talked about because of her captivating bass face... but I like how she's aware of that, doesn't give a sh*t and just gets on with the job of knocking out some solid b-lines. Good on her

I knew the lads from Elbow (especially Guy) and Daman Gough (Badly Drawn Boy) before they hit the big time. All very hard-working musicians who had been on the Manchester scene for [i]years[/i] (in the case of Elbow, a decade) before they got swept up and became household names. I'm not in touch with any of them these days - they've all moved down south or overseas - but it's always nice watching them on the telly and remembering hanging out at Night & Day Cafe, Big Hands and other Manchester venues 'back in the day'

Well, I[i] just[/i] managed to scrape something together this month between packing and unpacking boxes. I opted for a psychedelic route inspired by the likes of Mercury Rev and Butthole Surfers, bands I used to listen to a lot during my more wayward years. It was all recorded and mixed during a two hour session last Sunday with pretty much everything played in one take, warts and all. The lyrics took about five minutes to pen on the back of an envelope, and it shows Anyway, it was good fun throwing something together quick smart and relying on improvisation rather than preparation. Something I'll definitely try again. I haven't listened to any of the other tracks as yet - not Internet at home at the moment - so I have them to enjoy one lunchbreak at work this week. Cheers all!
