Ain’t it just? A more funky Yammy ‘80s BB.
It plays really well too - yes it reminds me of the Yamaha series and the Hooky bass.

The cull continues and this sadly must go - last in first out. It’s a Gordon Smith Gypsy II hand made in Manchester in 1982. It’s a lovely bass and weighs bang on 4.1kgs. Fixed neck, Schaller hardware and the amazing round pickups that can be adjusted for height and angle of pole pieces in each string!
It sounds great, like a Precision but slightly beefier, the P Bass Gibson ought to have made! It’s all original in tobacco sunburst finish. It’s been used therefore there are dings on the body and neck but remains in good condition for the year. It’s a very rare bass - but I recognise it’s a brand more known for their guitars than basses. That said it is a wonderful instrument, high quality build from a great British maker. It sports new Roto nickel wounds and comes with gigbag.
Sorry I don’t want any trades and it’s UK only. I can post but at buyer’s cost. Any questions please ask.

It’s loud but I doubt 300 watts loud on its own. I tried it with an extension cab and it was REALLY loud. 🤣
-
Trace Elliot Speaker cabinet. 10” Celestion in a small cab, this was originally a Commando combo but the amp blew. I’ve wired it as an extension cabinet and most recently used it as an extension cab with my Markbass Mini.
It’s a nice little cab in decent condition. I’d rate it at 100 watts.
I’d prefer pickup but can send it for £25 it’s quite heavy probably because it’s old school Trace Elliot build quality. U.K. only. No trades.
It could be used with an ELF head as a portable solution for small gigs.

The clear out continues - this time my spare combo a lovely little Ibanez Promethean P3110 for sale with Roqsolid cover.
The amp is in excellent condition. I have gigged it myself only once (with PA support) on a big stage with a full band - it worked really well as a monitor when my main amp died. Apart from this it’s been used at home as a practice amp. I bought it secondhand but it has been well cared for.
It sounds nice and punchy however the tweeter doesn’t work - possibly a loose connection - I didn’t bother to attempt to fix this as it sounds fine without it.
I can box it and send it at buyers cost in the U.K. probably around £25.
Please note that much of my gear has been sold or is in storage and I have been using this with my main amp’s power lead (kettle lead) so no mains lead is included.
I’d prefer pickup so you can try it. No trades.
Here is the Ibanez blurb.
Designed to achieve a full-spectrum bass tone in a compact portable package, the Promethean P3110 is capable of producing up to 300w of power. It is also equipped with an array of useful, on-board features making this far more than just a simple practice amp. The 3-band EQ, 10" woofer with dome tweeter, and balance XLR, afford this amp everything needed to be an agile and effective gigging solution.
Thanks.

Very nice bass. I really like the neck. What strings does it have on, out of interest?
Not sure of the strings they were on a Fender I bought. They maybe GHS?

Wow! That’s a lot of bass for not much money! Parting out would definitely gather more funds for you.
GLWTS,
Andy
I’d rather sell it as a complete bass Andy, it’s very nice to play and I’m looking for a quick sale.

Fender Precision Bitsa - put together with all genuine Fender parts.
Body is from a ‘50s MIM Fender Precision reissue.
Neck, scratchplate and hardware is from a 2012 MIM Roger Waters Signature Precision.
Seymour Duncan Quarterpounder P bass pickup. Spiral saddled bridge so you can adjust string spacing.
It’s light weight at 3.8kgs and sounds great. There are a few minor blemishes but nothing structural. It’s a lovely maple capped neck with a brass nut. Action is nice and light, truss rod works fine.
No case but I have a decent box to post it in U.K. only. Selling because my trusty amp has died and I need to replace it. No trades sorry. Postage at buyers cost. If it doesn’t sell at this price I’ll part it out.
Cheers!

I’d entertain a part trade on a Markbass head too.

Would they be long enough for a through strung bass ?
-
I’m looking to replace the heavy tuners on my 2003 Corona P bass. Does anyone know which tuner I need to go for? I know that there are licensed and US made Ultralights but what size string post? I’m looking at the chrome/clover models.
Here are two pictures to illustrate what size tuners are already on my bass, any help would be appreciated.

Warwick Gnome Pro I
This is the top of the range 280 watt into 4ohms version. It has the USB out so it can also be used as an interface without special drivers.
I bought it from Anderson’s late September this year for a couple of gigs and a recording whilst my main amp was being serviced.
It’s surplus to requirements now so I’m selling on. It was £200 delivered so I will sell at £175. Not bad for a virtually brand new amp. It also comes with a proper mains lead rather than the crappy one Anderson’s shipped it with that required an adapter.
Boxed as new. It sounds massive and is barely bigger than a CD!
No trades UK only price includes postage.

Fender MIM Roger Waters Signature Precision Bass. This is another of my RW P basses. It has the capped maple board neck with brass nut, stock black hardware and single ply pickguard. The pickup is the stock Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder. The bass plays well and sounds really punchy. Frets and neck are very clean and in excellent condition with a few dings at the headstock. Some dings and buckle-rash on the body and hardware tarnishing. Weighs 4kgs.
No gig bag I’m afraid. Withdrawn

I got a Warwick Gnome I Pro today which is rated at 280 watts. Like many here I bought it as a rehearsal and back up amp. It does sound fantastic, I have tried it through a vintage Vox cabinet and a Jennings both Celestion loaded. A Trace Elliot 10” cab and my Mark Bass NY 604. All sounded loud and punchy, incidentally all had an 8 ohm load making total power 180 watts. The 15” sounded best. Very loud. I used a Ric 5 string and the low B was fine, my old 77 Precision, a Precision with quarter pounders and my Yamaha Peter Hook with active eq. All worked well - I will gig it this weekend, probably for the last set to see if it perks up my ears.

It reminds me of the old JPS racing livery. Nice looking hand made U.K. bass but the price is a bit ambitious I think. I’m sure it’s worth it but it’s a one off and GS aren’t really known for their basses.

It’s a very nice 1982 US made Precision Elite. It’s in excellent condition. All original apart from some screws and a new nut. The bass has a great action and the electrics work perfectly. The chunky bridge is included and complete with intonation disc/screws though at the moment I’ve taken them off as they are a bit uncomfortable when muting. It’s a lovely well balanced bass and not a bad weight for one of these at 4.3kgs. Neck has some nice figuring and the body has a lovely grain to it.
No trades please as this is part of my clearout. The bass was made in Fullerton US apparently and quite rare. At one point it had a basic BBT bridge installed and as a result I tried a threaded bridge on it which reduced the weight to 4kgs! There are five extra screws under the original bridge for this although you can’t see them. There is also a crack in the battery cover.
Pickup preferred but I can post at buyers cost U.K. only as I have a decent box. Sorry no case.-

One more bump before I part it out

Yep it was mine, no surprises really, they bought my Mustang too so I expect to see it soon at a big mark up. That’s capitalism. They paid quickly and I got what I wanted for the instruments, the moral is keep an eye out for bargains on Basschat!

Price is a bit better than part 1 but given the fact only the body and neck are Gibson and the possibilty that the body has been hacked away into a swimming pool under that scratchplate…

A bass that is essentially a hybrid Fender Roger Waters signature model with a MIM Fender 50’s body. All the parts and the neck were from a Fender RW bass. The pickup is a Seymour Duncan quarter pounder and as the name suggests it’s a pretty beefy unit. Strings are D’addario round wounds. The body is from a Fender Mexican 50’s reissue that was nice and light the whole bass weighs in at 3.9 kgs and plays really well. It’s a unique looking bass with 100% Fender parts. The neck is capped maple and has a brass nut. It dates from 2010. I’ve used this as a backup and it’s had a lot of compliments as the black and red combination is very eye catching. Withdrawn

Roger Waters signature Precision bass. I bought this from the original owner a while back mainly because of the black finish and maple neck. It reminded me of my old 70s Precision, however the neck profile is different and so it’s been in storage and not used. I noticed when I swapped the jack output that it has had extra scratch plate holes drilled so it accepts a traditional style 13 hole guard. I installed one as I wanted to keep ‘The Wall’ scratch plate intact with the sticker in place. So the bass comes with three ply guard and original single ply guard as a spare. The neck is lovely, it’s unusual as it is a capped board rather than one with a skunk stripe - I believe some 60s basses were made like this notably the slab body P bass made for the U.K. market only.
The bass has a brass nut and black hardware, the tuners are stock and they are chrome - another quirk of this model. Currently there are chrome pickguard screws however I will include the original black ones. The bass also has a stock Seymour Duncan quarter pounder fitted which sounds great!
The bass plays well and is fitted with newish round wound strings, it’s got a great sound with plenty of sustain.it is lightweight at 3.9kgs and comes with Fender gig bag and manual, etc.
It is in near new condition other than the replacement jack socket and extra holes which cannot be seen when the original scratch plate is fitted. It dates from around 2016. No trades please, I can post but only in the U.K. I’m selling it for what it cost me.
