  1. Dog Breath variations - Zappa
  2. Hello Skinny - The Residents/Primus
  3. Send it my way, it takes longer to take it apart and put it back together than it does to solder it - I know cos I’ve done 3 or 4 of them!
  4. Yup, first two album s are amazing and what I would consider essential listening for any bass player, even if 'Travelling Without Moving' is overly compressed.
  5. Hey Fattie Bum Bum - The Diversions
  6. I used to have aBDI-21 as an emergency DI, but personally I prefer the ADI-21; I run it exclusively clean (no speaker sim as it's too distorted for my tastes) and fully sweepable mids.
  7. Dancin’ Fool - Zappa
  8. Do ‘Eggs TC’ count, or have I gone oeuf topic?
  9. leads and pedals in my pedalboard, power leads in my 4U rack case with the head - basses in cases/gigbags. I can't stand bits of stuff floating around, so everything has to go in boxes for me. Recently I've come to rely on an ipad for charts, so that comes with me in a messenger bag, but radiohead said it best: everything in its right place.
  10. The Eggsploited.
  11. Chocolate Girl - Deacon Blue.
  12. 16 shells from a thirty ought six - Tom Waits
  13. Are you drinkin’ with me Jesus? - Jello Biafra & Mojo Nixon
  14. Ghoul's night out - Misfits
  15. Hi all, I've fitted a passive crossover in my 1x12" cabinet and it now has a tweeter, thing is, I\d like to raise the crossover frequency so that just the 'sparkly bits' go through my tweeter, and have more of my signal going through the woofer. It's a crossover from a Peavey 2x10" with two capacitors, an inductor and an attenuator as shown below: 410TVX.pdf is it simply a case of using the 1/2π√LC (L is 200µH, caps are 3.3µf and 15µf) to calculate this, or is there something else I need to consider. I was hoping to just substitute different values of capacitor to achieve this (obviously with the correct power rating!) and thought I'd ask the BC collective for any advice or ridicule before setting to work. TIA
  16. incredible little dirt boxes - highly recommended piece of kit!
  17. My ‘beater/bitsa’ P bass has a set of flats that are a year old - just getting settled in nicely!
  18. Best 5 string I ever played was a Blade; stunning instruments in their 'normal' production runs - god only knows how good this one is!!
  19. Heart of soul - The Cült
  20. I LOVE playing 80's synth basslines (octave, envelope filter and/or fuzz) and soul/Motown stuff is always welcome. Mostly I'll play anything though. I like complex, syncopated stuff but sometimes you can't beat laying down solid 8ths with a P bass and a pick - that kind of playing has its own kind of joy.
  21. Incredible pedals. I sold mine for the same reason as you - it was just too big for my board. GREAT for keeping in the studio though.
  22. That would stretch to the moon though!
  23. I seem to remember the chilli’s not being particularly entertaining in Dublin 20+ years ago (by the way tour I think) - they’d be in the running for worst live band had New Order not been their opener and beaten them to it.
  24. Turn up, tune up, shut up.
