  1. dunno, if it's made in the same factory as other (more expensive) basses then it's quicker (and therefore cheaper) to use the same tooling for everything.
  2. Patience is key here. If it's a rosewood (or similar) fretboard then be VERY careful when removing the frets, as it splinters very easily. Heat them up with a soldering iron to let them lift themselves out of the grooves before carefully pulling them out. Get a radius block too for the smoothing/sanding after the gaps have been filled in - these come in various sizes, so check with a radius gauge first - you might need two, as some boards have a compound radius (slightly different radius closer to the nut than the bridge).
  3. Great little pedals - really nails the OC-2 thing but in a much smaller package.
  4. Bi (valve) - Living Colour
  5. 24 hour party people - Happy Mondays
  6. Sheep - The Housemartins
  7. I reckon it’s to make the B string seem bassier than it is - take some of the ‘boom’ out of the next lowest strings so that the B sounds half decent by comparison… 😄
  8. Excellent Rat based distortion with a 2 band eq, one of my favourites.
  9. yes, it's also possible to control multiple parameters simultaneously - e.g. I have an overdrive patch where the expression pedal controls the amount of overdrive, blend, eq settings and volume all in one sweep. Dead easy to set up too.
  10. Yeppers, my M5 is on my board as a 'modulation box'; good little unit that's even better with an expression pedal.
  11. King. It works for Prince AND Queen.
  12. Pop Has Eaten Itself.
  13. Not a new (or even AI generated) picture, but I can’t imagine a more recent one looking much different.
  14. Charlie 1010 1100100 1010
  15. DABhead
  16. Mega’unalive’.
  17. I always loved the 12th fret playing in Chelsea Monday. Great Ric tone too, unless my ears fail me.
  18. Best. Filter. Ever. I’ve had LOTS of filters here at _5 Towers but the meatball is the one that stayed.
  19. Any excuse for this banger!
  20. Can you post photos of both sides of your board so we can see if there’s anything you might have missed?
  21. What in the risen Christ is that?!?
  22. Yes, Brave is a wonderful album, but I'll always have a soft spot for the Fish era, as this was during my formative years.
  23. Where’s me jumper - Sultans of Ping F.C.
  24. Cab was a Trace 1153, but it was still underwhelming with their smaller 2x10 (2103H) too.
  25. As far as 'worst amps' go it's obviously the Carlsboro thing was was at a mate's house back in the '90s, but in a very close second place would be the Ashdown ABM300 that I bought (when the transformer on my Ampeg SVP blew) brand new and the buttons kept falling apart (literally split when I pressed it) so I returned it. In its defence it sounded GREAT -really clean, punchy DI sound with tons of 'heft', but I didn't have any faith in the build quality. I also had a Trace 150W GP7 head that sounded great but couldn't keep up with my drummer at the time, but maybe I was expecting too much from it.
