  1. Would I gig it? In a heartbeat. If the bass is set up according to how I like it and holds its tuning then I see no issue.
  2. Singer keeps changing arrangement? I’d be changing singers.
  3. Get lessons! DB is an entirely different beastie and it’s really easy to damage yourself unless your technique is safe.
  4. Seventh triads (minor, major, dominant) up and down the neck (2octaves) , then pick four chords and play a couple of bars of each as a slow progression, then speed up.
  5. My entry album was the Chronicles compilation, I still listen to it from time to time.
  6. Nickel too, not even stainless steel! Someone is removing the micturate, and no mistake.
  7. I love the EHX Small Clone (and Small Stone if it comes to that) for modulation stuff.
  8. Anything by the Eagles; just can’t bear them.
  9. Up for grabs is my blackface Ampeg SVP PRO preamp. All tube preamp with transformer isolated XLR out, 2 preamp outs on 1/4” jacks, effects loops and tuner out. Manual is online here: https://ampeg.com/pdf/SVP-PRO.pdf Comes with full set of Harma tubes (Watford Tubes’ own brand) and isolating transformer for the preamp outputs - these units can be quite noisy due to the design of the power supply; a £15 passive Behringer box between the SVP and the power amp solves the problem. SOLD will trade for Ampeg SCR-DI pedal as I’m moving to ‘in-ears’ now. Back up for sale now.
  10. I’m going to buck the trend her and say that I prefer their later output; ‘New Adventures In Hifi’ being A particular favourite. I’m not saying their early stuff is schit, far from it. Just my personal opinion.
  11. Agreed; some of their best writing spoiled by too many overdubs. I like Presto too.
  12. Not really using this as much as I thought I would, so it’s up for grabs due to limited pedalboard space. Very good condition with box and instructions. with velcro on the underside: £45 includes P&P to a mainland UK front door fo your choosing. WITHDRAWN
  13. Both are currently in short supply at _5 towers.
  14. Ageing mbox 2 pro that’s not been used for a while is now up for sale. It’ll record at up to 96khz through FireWire connection to your laptop/ pc etc... Sound on sound magazine did a really good review here: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/digidesign-m-box-2-pro Stock photo: Please note, there is no native USB connection on this device. I’ve had it running on my MacBook Pro using the latest version of Protools on OS 10.14 with no issues, but the drivers are old, so I can’t guarantee that it’ll work on every system. You can check compatibility with your system here: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Download/Mbox-2-Pro-Drivers price does not include P&P.
  15. Can I add ‘option C’ into the mix? TC Electronics Nether is basically an OC2 in a red box.
  16. Agreed, the pre alone is worth very close to that!!
  17. Short answer is yes, a load of less than 8ohms will knacker your amp. Running the 2 cabs in series will give your amp a load of 20ohms, so it’ll be safe, can’t guarantee it being loud though.
  18. That should do it. You pipped me to the post with that DHA. Enjoy!
  19. If it’s a Dave Hall then you’re fine; they have a relay circuit inside that doubles the voltage, so plugging 9v in will give the tube 18v. They’re centre positive though, so you’d need to invert the supply.
  20. Rolling back to an earlier OS on MAC is a real pita. Basically you’ll need a copy of the installer and then you’ve got to partition the HD, install the old OS, move all of your stuff across and then boot from the new partition (old OS) and delete the partition with the newer OS on it. Unless of course you’ve got a Time Machine backup. You*do* have a TM backup, don’t you...? I didn’t; that’s how I know how to do this! 😉
