    Heard some Journey on the radio today; actually very impressed! Great tone and perfect for the song. Not into the MOR sound at all, but some nice playing underneath all of that schtick.

    I prefer the sound of a 6x10” to a 8x10”, it’s just a bit less ‘rumbly’.

    Pop the back, could be a short somewhere if it's draining batteries quickly; they're only supposed to draw 25mA.

    Mine was a short scale Hohner with a P pickup: into a Marshall practice amp; neither of which were great. Fortunately we did a lot of gigs with PA support, so the paltry output of the Marshall wasn't an issue.

    Downloaded it and ‘gave it a spin’ on my way to work yesterday. My first impression is that it’s a very, very good album. I’m looking forward to getting more acquainted with it on subsequent listenings.

    Would I gig it? In a heartbeat. If the bass is set up according to how I like it and holds its tuning then I see no issue.

    Get lessons! DB is an entirely different beastie and it’s really easy to damage yourself unless your technique is safe.

    Seventh triads (minor, major, dominant) up and down the neck (2octaves) , then pick four chords and play a couple of bars of each as a slow progression, then speed up.
