  1. Fair point, but it’s the best half!
  2. ‘My Favourite Things’ - John Coltrane. 😍
  3. I like a bit of bite from my Jazz so I went for the Ernie Ball Cobalts - perfect mix of thump and bite when I dig in.
  4. I really like these: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/chairs-stools-benches/junior-chairs/urban-junior-chair-green-art-50207036/ Sold as a childrens’ chair, but great raising the sitting height of adults too. I’m 5’9” by the way.
  5. It’s great isn’t it? I love flats on a Jazz.
  6. Yes, but no-one has mentioned the Elephant in the room - guitarist is looking at his hands...
  7. My main 'squeeze' is a fretless Jazz/Musicman hybrid. I have fretted basses for playing live with bands etc.. but at home I'll plump for the fretless every time; there's just something about the timbre of the notes that I love. I don't approach it as a 'fretless' instrument, just another bass. My technique doesn't (consciously) alter though. Occasionally I'll drop in some of the techniques that are associated with fretless bass (sliding/vibrato etc...) but I honestly can't remember the last time I did it during a performance.
  8. “Charlie don’t surf!”
  9. Also in “40 year old virgin” - “who has a framed Asia poster?”
  10. I saw a few people playing these at an Iron Maiden gig - nice bit of kit!
  11. I'm running an Ampeg SVP PRO preamp and an Amp B410HLF cabinet - both of which I love the sound of, but my current power amp (Laney SP300) is only delivering 150W (per side) into my cabinet, and as my cab is 4Ω I can't use the 'Bridge' mode - which would deliver all 300W to a single channel but expects an 8Ω load. What do other BCers use in their separate pre/power setups? Go!
  12. That's "Breaking the Law", surely...
  13. Pitch shift a la Tool?
  14. Wah? Trem /modulation speed?
  15. One word of caution, always make sure that you’re supplying MORE current than you need to a pedal/board; if you try to draw more current than a psu can deliver then the psu will go pop. Never give a pedal more voltage than it’s rated for, as this will cause the pedal to go pop.
  16. I bought a Hohner Baron bass (short scale thing) for £70 at a local music shop (I think it was Reidy's in Blackburn) and picked up a Marshall combo from somewhere else (don't remember where) at roughly the same time. They sounded crap. I saved up for a Trace Elliot AH 130 as soon as I could!
  17. EB Cobalts. Love ‘em!!
  18. Vintage Caline Orange Burst overdrive pedal. BNIB. Really clean example of this sought after effect. £350 plus p&p
  19. These things are brilliant; I dropped one I each of my Jazz bitsas and they sound amazing! Great price too - I paid £50 each for mine!
  20. That track. 😍.
  21. Screenshot from my Ampeg AVP manual: -12db is a fairly significant amount of cut!!
  22. That whole album is superb!
  23. How easy would it be to have a drop down menu a la eBay?
