  1. Snapping it up? Better off snapping it in half.
  2. Sounds really good - nails the Stingray sound (well, maybe 95% there) and not noisy at all when soloed. Really glad I put these on my Jazz basses now.
  3. I’ve only done one gig with mine and ran it as a glorified pedal board, in between the bass and preamp. Obviously the amp and cab simulators weren’t used and I was pleased with how it sounded. No noticeable change in my bypassed tone either.
  4. I reckon If you need a shim that thick you should probably consider a new bass!
  5. Agree with everything that’s been said already, they’re also a little bit brighter than other flats, so good for that too.
  6. Current stomping ground. Really, really impressed with the B3n after a firmware update. Wasn’t sure about the choruses until the new Small Clone patch - nailed it guys!! Wireless receiver > B3n > amp. Small box is foorswitch for Ampeg SVP PRO pre.
  7. After playing about with my B3n I’m having a bit of a clear out, thesec2 are being culled: Chunk FX Agent 00Funk clone. Made using the layout on tagboardeffects using lovely LM13007 OTA chips for great chewy funk sounds. Velcro on the back and 9vdc adaptor only (not supplied). £30 to you. SOLD Aroma Tuner pedal £30ish on eBay, so £20 to you. Velcro on the back, and a really big, bright display.
  8. North Manchester ish
  9. I’d put an East in there too; superb pre.
  10. Another +1 for those of Peavey TNT amps. Bombproof combos, but get him into the habit of lifting it properly; back straight and legs bent etc...
  11. Eye contact is a biggie too, that and presenting a united front when the guitarist suggests “freebird” or similar.
  12. People eh?!? "Humanity is just a virus with shoes"
  13. Got 4 of 'em on each hand. 😉 Seriously though, I never used it.
  14. Metallica’s ‘Murder One’ is a tribute to Lemmy, and shares the name of his bass amp.
  15. The first two knobs are unaltered; standard volume controls for the J pups. The knob that was for the master tone is now the volume for the MM pup. The small switch is an on/on/on for 1st (bridge) coil, both coils in parallel (MM sound) and 2nd (bridge) coil, giving 12 different configurations.
  16. I’ve always loved playing Jazz basses but recently I’ve had a hankering for some Stingray vibes from my fretless. I present to you Exhibit A
  17. Not with a hefty amount of compression in front of it, seems to work alright!
  18. Complete failure. My octave pedal started misbehaving yesterday so I bought a B3n. oops!
  19. “Freebird”
  20. I love Jazzes. Ended up doing some punky stuff at rehearsal last night, so just ran the neck pickup soloed and turned up the ‘drive’ knob on my Ampeg pre. Glorious. Just glorious. Not quite the Precision tone, but good enough in the mix.
  21. Caline Orange Burst overdrive pedal. Home use only. SOLD TC Electronic Vibraclone Rotaty cab simulator. Light use with Velcro underneath.SOLD Both in excellent condition complete with boxes. £20 each including p&p to mainland UK.
  22. DSM Omnicab is REALLY useful for recording bass - Direct 'thru' output means that you can record straight from the bass to re-process later if you need to.
  23. Steely Dan in turn took their name from a dildo in William S. Burroughs’ ‘Naked Lunch’. Not a song, but still interesting.
  24. I sometimes do this. Also I have been known to put my foot up on a wedge, never at the same time though; people can’t generally handle that degree of ‘entertainment’.
  25. One particular gig I left an entire band behind. Sometimes you just outgrow people. ☹️
