  1. Wash yer 'ands afore playin' t'music.
  2. All that fuzz and Velcro too!
  3. Agreed, 1.3A and 9v sounds much more likely for a digital unit.
  4. My first thought after reading the thread title was ‘defecate in the corner’. I think I need to speak my therapist 🤭
  5. Get 500k push/pull pots so that there aren’t any more physical controls on the bass, just pull the knob upwards and tap the coil!
  6. Yes, but if you bought humbuckers that can be coil tapped them you’d have ‘Jazz bass’ covered too by running them as single coils. 👍🏻
  7. Yeah, that’s taking the pith a bit.
  8. Anyone got a spare $25,000 (plus import duty)? https://reverb.com/item/9832023-carl-thompson-rainbow-fretless-bass-2006-natural
  9. Yup. I can use my fretting hand thumb on my iPhone and that's about it.
  10. Dave Hall probably already does something that’ll Do what you need
  11. Needs to be a bit more substantial than these then?
  12. Not sure about the ‘poor relations’ moniker; every band I’ve been in has had a ‘weird uncle who smells a bit and keeps goats’ experience from me. They’ve been bloody lucky to have it too!
  13. Is it noticeably louder when using just one pickup? If this is the case then one of the pickups is probably out of phase with the other.
  14. Another vote for Pro Steels. Try lowering your action too for extra clang!
  15. What pickup configuration are you going for?
  16. I had a B Bass V (5 string version of this) for years and loved it; gigged it up and down the country and it never let me down. Great piece of kit!
  17. Had an SX Jazz years ago that was brilliant. Squier VM are worth scoping out too.
  18. flip me running! Looks like it’ll fold in 2 as soon as it’s strung up!
  19. Never seen an Alembic that I liked the look of. I love Jazz basses though, and that’s pretty much it. Also if it’s got more knobs and/or switches than strings then I’m not interested, and we’re back to Alembic... 😉
  20. Nice! I'd LOVE one of these but a bit out of my budget.

Very close to a Sansamp Bass Driver/Behringer BDI21 except smaller footprint (9cm x 8xm). All metal casing and sounds identical to the 2 above units. Definitely a step up from the Behringer in terms of build quality. Some pen marks on the top to indicate settings, but other than that it's in perfect condition. Price includes P&P to mainland UK. Photos to follow, but here's a very comprehensive review from Premier Guitar for now: Sold
