    Clearing up some space on the board so offering this up for sale. DOD FX25 clone with mods: 3 different sweep speeds (slow, fast and synth) and low pass filter/high pass filter to toggle between original filter and a bass-specific filter. The level knob is to attenuate the output level when using the lpf mode. true bypass switch and 9v dc mains only, Velcro on the underside.

    Billy Sheehan definitely deserves one, as he developed his own take on an existing product, as does Jaco, but didn’t most ‘famous’ bassists make all of that ‘famous’ music on standard, shop-bought instruments? James Jamerson’s was such a standard instrument it still had the original strings on when he died!! ?

    I use an Ampeg SVP pre into an old Laney SP300 bridged to 300w at 8ohms into a BF compact. I don’t think the power amp has been past 3, even with 2 guitarists with half-stacks and a metal drummer. I think it’s down to the output of the Ampeg pre though, that thing’s stupid loud!

    I try to avoid open strings wherever possible as I don’t like the sound of them. That said my metal band uses open strings a LOT. ?

    Absolute belter of an amp; my brother's got a Classic 30 2x12 combo and it sounds amazing!

    Me. I have a bass set up permanently in this tuning. I’m using Dunlop Flats (.45 .65 .85 .105) and the tension’s just right. ?

    Thanks for the replies everyone, I was thinking of this from an ecological perspective, as trees can grow and be ready for harvesting in 5 years or so.
