Best sound I ever had out of a Ric was through an Ampeg SVP Pro preamp through z power amp into a Hartke Hydrive 410. Magical!

For my 2 basses I've got a hard case and a gig bag. The bass that I use exclusively for my metal band (set up permanently drop tuned with flats) stays in the hard care, as that's what it goes to gigs in, but my main 'player' is my fretless Jazz in the gig bag; I use it for dep stuff/jam nights etc... and playing at home; that one tends to get treated a bit more gently than the other 😉

Personally I wouldn't use them, especially given the current alt-right/Nazi resurgence. Your opinions may differ though.

Jazz basses > optical compressor > Darkglass B3k clone (low end boost; dirt, mix both at around 12 o'clock) Ampeg SVTiip preamp, Laney SP300 power amp, Barefaced compact. 😊

SSD for both drives. Uber big improvements. I run a 2011 MacBook with protools that was choking up using impulse reverbs then I put a solid state drive in. Bingo!

I had a GP7 head (100watts or so) and a pair of cabs (2103h and 1153) which I gigged with for years. I found myself always fiddling with the sound and never being overly happy with the sound. Then I got an Ampeg head. 😉

Uncoloured bypass (or true bypass) is a must; I've lost count of the number of Wahs that I've modded to true bypass for other players. Blend control is pretty much a necessity for bass - in addition I'd put some sort of hpf on the wah circuit to allow the user to tune which frequencies get affected by the wah. Just my 2p worth.

Can't wait for this. I tried listening to 'Clean Your Clock' again this morning, but haven't been able to get through it; makes me sad to hear his voice on this album as it sounds feeble and a shadow of its former self.
