  4. Hi all, I've fitted a passive crossover in my 1x12" cabinet and it now has a tweeter, thing is, I\d like to raise the crossover frequency so that just the 'sparkly bits' go through my tweeter, and have more of my signal going through the woofer. It's a crossover from a Peavey 2x10" with two capacitors, an inductor and an attenuator as shown below: 410TVX.pdf is it simply a case of using the 1/2π√LC (L is 200µH, caps are 3.3µf and 15µf) to calculate this, or is there something else I need to consider. I was hoping to just substitute different values of capacitor to achieve this (obviously with the correct power rating!) and thought I'd ask the BC collective for any advice or ridicule before setting to work. TIA
  5. incredible little dirt boxes - highly recommended piece of kit!
  6. My ‘beater/bitsa’ P bass has a set of flats that are a year old - just getting settled in nicely!
  7. Best 5 string I ever played was a Blade; stunning instruments in their 'normal' production runs - god only knows how good this one is!!
  8. Heart of soul - The Cült
  9. I LOVE playing 80's synth basslines (octave, envelope filter and/or fuzz) and soul/Motown stuff is always welcome. Mostly I'll play anything though. I like complex, syncopated stuff but sometimes you can't beat laying down solid 8ths with a P bass and a pick - that kind of playing has its own kind of joy.
  10. Incredible pedals. I sold mine for the same reason as you - it was just too big for my board. GREAT for keeping in the studio though.
  11. That would stretch to the moon though!
  12. I seem to remember the chilli’s not being particularly entertaining in Dublin 20+ years ago (by the way tour I think) - they’d be in the running for worst live band had New Order not been their opener and beaten them to it.
  13. Turn up, tune up, shut up.
  14. If you can find one then I love my Dave Hall VT1 custom for this. It's an older one, so needs its own 12v centre positive DC supply but it's well worth the hassle.
  15. Really? I would have thought it would have had an eight track.
  16. The mid shift on this is worth the price of entry too - very flexible.
  17. Dummy cabs as monitors/barricade?
  18. Oh, now there’s huge can of worms! Incidentally, do you know ‘sex on fire’?
  19. Absolute. Beast. I had one years ago and loved it!
  20. Mine started out at 25’ but has been fixed over the years, kind of like ‘my uncle Billy’. Neutrik jacks and van damme cable ftw.
  21. Corrugated sheet steel probably.
  22. Mrs_5 has contributed ‘that guy from Primus is the lead singer and bassist, and I know that’s quite unusual’, ‘George Harrison - was he the bass player in the Beatles?’ Not looking good is it? 😄 After some gentle prompting we got to ‘Les Claypool’
  23. Wilton Felter - originally a saxophonist. but also played the bassline to 'I want you back' by the Jackson 5
  24. My mate got felt-up by Shed 7 - does this count?
  25. St Alphonso's Pancake Breakfast - Zappa
