1. Geddy Lee plays a bit of guitar, does that count?
2. Intermittent faults are the worst. To be on the safe side I'd get in touch with Ki0gon to get a new loom, or get the tech to rewire it at least; it's quicker to rewire the lot than check each wire individually.
3.
Just my two cents but a VT2 but as a two channel preamp with a separate colour section with an independent switch and blend in order to fully blend the two sounds together would be my dream come true
So a 2 note clone then...
4. I used to use the headphone and line in function as a home practice amp and found it really, really useful. I sometimes wished it had a blend and a hpf so that I could keep the lows clean and just add some hair to the top. Just my twopenneth
5. Nope. You can supply a device with excess current but NOT excess voltage. You could make one easily enough using an LM7812 voltage regulator - they can be had for pence.
6. I can't find my pig iron. Looks like I'm giving the county fair a miss this year; nobody wants to look at a dishevelled pig.
7. Mine would be a '75, so I reckon a Jazz bass would be best. to TheGreek - you'd have been gestating at the same time as a '62 was being made, so I reckon you should plump for that...
8. I've run a 4 string fretless Jazz through s Fender DeVille before now and it sounded excellent. Bill's right about the low end though; it's great for soloing and chord work, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a reggae gig 😉.
9. I'm loving mine. Admittedly it's a 'baby' ampeg - SVT-IIP preamp into a solid state power amp and Barefaced cab, but my back will thank me in 10 years time.

Timo

Bought Timo's Ed Friedland book. Nice, easy and stress-free transaction. Cheers Timo.
11. Sold Sid a Blueberry O/D clone pedal. Almost immediate payment and great communication throughout.
12. Just finished 4 hours with flats on my Jazz into my Ampeg and a tube screamer modded for bass. Bloody luverly! 😍
13. Having a clear out of my dirt box collection. I ordered the board and built it to 'boutique' specs, so it's lower gain than their usual model. Sweepable frequency to the overdrive circuit enables tailoring of dirty sound. True bypass and 9vdc centre negative powered (standard Boss adapter) only. Never gigged, so no Velcro underneath. Price includes P&P to mainland UK SOLD
14. There's only 1 available too, better be quick to avoid the rush.
15. Nice that. Obviously been well looked-after as none of the caps have come off the EQ sliders or gain and volume knobs.
16. Swamp ash Jazz body, Squier neck and VM pickups with 500kΩ pots. Action as low as you can get it. Add an S1 switch and you're good to go.
17. I've done it, but bear in mind that you're completely at the mercy of the engineer - I remember one gig where the chap on the desk was less than competent and I ended up not being able to hear anything bass on stage; just guitar and drums. Not braved it since.
18. Congrats on your new bass, glad it worked out for you.
19. I retubed an SVP PRO preamp using their tubes and the difference between those and the stock tubes was staggering. Yes, Watford Tubes aren't cheap, but you gets what you pays for - particularly with tubes.
20. I do step 1 & 2 and then wind so that the string works its way down the tuner. I've never done step 3.
21. Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys. Magical. https://youtu.be/QSLMWasU0rM
22. Frank Zappa had some great (and equally questionable) song titles; some of which are not for publication on a squeamish and conservative forum such as this. 😳
