1. I thought they were called AC/DC because that's the main chord progression?
2. http://youtu.be/JqSD4aRDMiI http://basschat.co.uk/topic/295330-hartke-hydrive-4x10-and-2x10/page__p__3296295__hl__hartke__fromsearch__1#entry3296295
3. Probably some sort of overdrive. Or an octaver.
4. From an old BC thread on the 3 band EQ of the LH series amps: "Remember that the LH-1000 has a "tone stack" EQ and the flat reference setting is bass 3, mids 10, treble 0. Setting all the controls at noon will give you a scooped midrange sound. Read the manual and you will get the idea. There are only three knobs so set them where they sound good for you and your bass!"

I changed the 2 emitter resistors from 100r to 560 to reduce the gain and make it a bit less fizzy. I'm going for a low to mid drive unit with this one.

DIY Effects

Been playing about with one of these on stripboard lately - altered a couple of values to suit it more to my taste and it's working very well! http://youtu.be/AqBxMXwc77c
7. Just got an email to say that PMT are having a sale of Hartke gear and thought it might be of interest to somebody on here. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/brands/hartke
8. I'd complain to the utilities company; never rub another man's rhubarb!
9. Mine comes after the tuner just before the octave and envelope filter. Not tried it anywhere else though...
10. I enjoyed it; the massive amount of delay on the guitar is a bit off putting though.
11. Flats FTW.
12. "Sorry I'm late to the gig, it Tuk me longer than I thought to get here..."
13. Geddy Lee plays a bit of guitar, does that count?
14. Intermittent faults are the worst. To be on the safe side I'd get in touch with Ki0gon to get a new loom, or get the tech to rewire it at least; it's quicker to rewire the lot than check each wire individually.
15.
Just my two cents but a VT2 but as a two channel preamp with a separate colour section with an independent switch and blend in order to fully blend the two sounds together would be my dream come true
So a 2 note clone then...
16. I used to use the headphone and line in function as a home practice amp and found it really, really useful. I sometimes wished it had a blend and a hpf so that I could keep the lows clean and just add some hair to the top. Just my twopenneth
17. Nope. You can supply a device with excess current but NOT excess voltage. You could make one easily enough using an LM7812 voltage regulator - they can be had for pence.
18. I can't find my pig iron. Looks like I'm giving the county fair a miss this year; nobody wants to look at a dishevelled pig.
19. Mine would be a '75, so I reckon a Jazz bass would be best. to TheGreek - you'd have been gestating at the same time as a '62 was being made, so I reckon you should plump for that...
20. I've run a 4 string fretless Jazz through s Fender DeVille before now and it sounded excellent. Bill's right about the low end though; it's great for soloing and chord work, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a reggae gig 😉.
21. I'm loving mine. Admittedly it's a 'baby' ampeg - SVT-IIP preamp into a solid state power amp and Barefaced cab, but my back will thank me in 10 years time.

Timo

Bought Timo's Ed Friedland book. Nice, easy and stress-free transaction. Cheers Timo.
23. Sold Sid a Blueberry O/D clone pedal. Almost immediate payment and great communication throughout.
24. Just finished 4 hours with flats on my Jazz into my Ampeg and a tube screamer modded for bass. Bloody luverly! 😍
