As much as I don't relish learning year another DAW, I'm really impressed with it so far. I can update my OS too, without having to shell out mucho monies for an updated PT license as well. Seems to be the way forward.

I was playing about with Reaper last night on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro and couldn't believe the performance improvement from my usual DAW (Pro Tools 10). PT10 really struggles with impulses reverbs and higher quality amp simulators, but Reaper just keeps going - seriously considering moving to Reaper full time now...

Seriously though, I heard that Macca would record the bass part [i]after[/i] all of the vocals had been done, so he knew exactly what the song needed, and more importantly, what it didn't. Not to take anything away from him though - they are still great, great lines.

I played in a 'boys' night out' band a couple of years ago (except that one of them was a girl). lasted 2 'rehearsals' and left. The 'singer' wasn't there for the first, and I had a good time jamming with the other band members, but when the singer turned up with a sextet of ales, and proceeded to consume them during the rehearsal, I knew that the band wasn't for me. Nothing against the others though, they were good players and we had a laugh, but I'm not into that sort of band.

EHX will be using lead free solder in order to comply with regulations about hazardous substances (ROHS) - this melts at a higher temperature than good old 60/40 (lead and tin solder). You could try adding a fresh dab of solder to the joints, this can encourage the old solder to melt a bit sooner than it would with just an iron.

Definitely don't need one. Probably can't afford one. Still want one!
