  2. Bird on the Wine - Leonard Cohen. Dump - Nirvana I Wash - Stevie Wonder
  3. Thumb and finger, but not slapped unless indicated.
  4. Pretend we're dead - L7 https://youtu.be/NAdlZ2F-fs8?si=MOEyRPQN3Z-n8drf
  5. quick tip for soldering to the pot cases - they have a coating on them which makes it more difficult than it needs to be - a bit of abrasion with a brillo pad or something similar will remove this and the soldering is MUCH easier.
  6. It’s embarrassing. I’ve not sat through their set no matter how many times I try.
  7. The day that Queen covered themselves in glory, and Led Zeppelin covered themselves in something else. we still use the mantra ‘Queen at Live Aid’ in one of the bands I dep for - meaning no messing around during soundcheck. 5 minutes at the absolute maximum.
  8. Values are usually printed on the front of the brown wafer, but they're only visible when you remove them from the bass. They could be labelled as 100KA (100kΩ, Logarithmic sweep), but occasionally you'll get one that doesn't, at that point you'll have to desolder it from the wiring (after first labelling or some other means of identifying how to put it back - ask me how I found this out!) and measuring it. It's not generally a good idea to measure the value of components whilst they're soldered on place, as they can often be wired with other passive components (fixed resistors, diodes and capacitors) that can skew the reading.
  9. I suppose you could just sit in it and wobble about a bit until the tide comes in, but really, who has time for that? And I've just read the rest of the thread. As you were.
  10. Me too. I put together a lovely fretless Jazz - one piece ash body, NW guitars ( I think) fretless neck and loved it. Then I bought a router and added a Wilkinson Stingray pickup, but wired it so that each coil could be selected individually. I put this on one of the volume controls and used a dual gang potentiometer for the jazz pickups and a master passive tone control. Lovely.
  11. Another Adagio user here; I’ve got a set on my Bitsa P bass and they’re great strings, solid sounding strings without being noticeably higher tension than my usual non-flat basses. I think they were about £15 off Amazon.
  12. Murder on the Dancefloor - The Sophie Ellis-Bextor
  13. Check that your tone pot isn't touching anything it shouldn't - it could be dumping all of your top end to ground.
  14. I've had one of these many moons ago - lovely, squelchy fun to be had!
  15. EWS BMC is another great single-band mids pedal. Not tried the Haunting Mids but I've had very positive experiences with it; brilliant piece of kit!
  16. Fretless Jazz into an Ampeg preamp is my (not so) secret sauce. At least half of the time I'll be playing with a custom clone of the Blue Tube/Butler 903 tube overdrive with a blend - set to just below dirty so it crunches when I dig in. Lovely.
