1. I will. I'll also have the pleasure of seeing youse guys on Saturday at the Borough in Darwen, Lancashire. That's Saturday the 28th of June at the Borough in Darwen, Lancashire...
2. I'd also question how exactly it was 'serviced' and nobody noticed the fault.
3.
Dr. my arse - bloody fake.
Yup, definately not a proctologist...
4.
Tech 21 XXL?
This, and one of those ridiculous undercuts will help to accentuate the upper mids...
5.
I have three Ashdown heads because they're awesome and reliable. I'm glad to see more and more artists are signing onto their roots.
If they're so reliable, why THREE?
6. Laney SP300, 300 W (150per side at 4Ω) head. 2U steel case with 1/4" sockets and binding posts. It will also run bridged for 300W at 8Ω, so perfect for driving bass cabs for small/medium gigs. It's not had much use, and has been rack mounted for the vast majority of its life. Some scuffs in the paint, but nothing major £70 to you good folks, can deliver or meet within reasonable distance of North Manchester. TRADE OPTION: 2 x 4GB 1333MHZ DDR strips (204 pin) to fit 13" Macbook Pro.
7. Also Laney have emailed me back saying that they haven't got any information on it.
8. It looks like this: and the input sockets have got a 'link' socket underneath them - presumably this is for running parallel power amps, but I've never noticed them before. Anybody got any experience of doing this?
9.
Any cap wired this way would become a master tone control, as it straddles the hot and ground sides of the circuit. You cannot isolate a tone control to work on a single pickup, effectively, using mono, passive electronics.
Yeah, I realised that as I was planning my wiring. I've decided to hang fire on this idea... for now...
10. Big 'uns!
11.
Ever tried helping him get the drums set up? You could help load in, get stands up & place cymbals so he can get them set up for him, you could get drums & cymbals out of cases, hi-hat stand etc, etc. While he's faffing about getting them all into position, you can set your gear up. Being in a band is a team effort after all, so if everyone pulls together as a team, all good for the "common cause", which is why you are all in a rehearsal room together in the first place... surely?
This.
12. Brilliant news! Also, do you find that your post-electric shock soldering is a bit tricky until the shakes have stopped?
13.
Piezo in the bridge
...oooh, there's a thought...
14. I've just rediscovered my old Laney SP300 power amp. It's all on 1/4" jack sockets and binding posts with independent volume controls for channels 1 and 2 and it'll run as 300W bridged IIRC. Anybody know where I can find out the specs (recommended input level and impedance etc...)?
15.
Oh well done. Being jumped on for a solo is my recurring nightmare.
This, apart from 'Being jumped on for a solo' is just one of my recurring nightmares...
16. "Kiogon" on here makes brilliant quality, solder-less looms for basses, might be worth giving him a shout. http://basschat.co.uk/user/7835-kiogon/
17. The transformer rewir company were recommended by Derek at Watford Valves, so it might be worth giving them a call. If you speak to Derek it won't be a short phone call, but what he doesn't know about about 'pegs ain't worth knowing.
18. Panic music in Cambridge ( I think) are the only authorised dealer for Ampeg spares in the UK, but the trannies you get these days just don't seem to be that good. If I remember correctly there's a company in Ipswitch who rewind transformers.
19. Slander will be unleashing their new line-up at the Borough in Darwen, Lancashire on June 28th. Support is by the Horny Goat Band (bachelors of the Parish). Hot blues and NWOBHM styled metal for all...
20. Won't someone think of the children? Those delucious, crunchy children...
21. Blend pedal - handful of components and it's real game changer. I recently added a LPF to mine so that just the low frequencies are kept unaffected, and the mids and top get messed up. Score!
22. That, sir, is a BEAUTIFUL Jazz bass.
23. Might this be of some use? http://www.stringbusters.com/stringfaqs.asp
