Thanks! There are others in the works (passive "drive" and passive mid-freq cut)
Passive drive? A feedback looped pair of germanium diodes to ground? 1N34? I'm very intrigued…
2.
I've found this online, the Bat-O-Meter... http://www.keithmcmillen.com/batt-o-meter/overview
Just had a look at that. Ironic that the 9v battery needed to power it isn't included!
3. Multimeter. You can use it for all sorts of other stuff too. Depending on the battery connectors you should be able to get the probes on the battery contacts without taking it out., but you'd probably have to unscrew the cover anyway, so that sort of defeats the point...
4. Yup, I'd expect him or the band to pay to have it repaired. Might be worth invoicing the band (as a group) to replace the drivers as it would prompt everyone else to help the lazy f***er to 'lug his TE rig up the stairs' next time…
5. elephant? I thought it was one of these…
6. There's a sticky of recommended luthiers in the Repairs and Technical section - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/26654-recommended-luthiers/ Hope you find one you like.
7. Needs more cowbell. No seriously, I enjoyed that. He's a great player.
8. I've just rediscovered Pearl Jam. I bought their first album (Ten) and absolutely loved it, their second was very good and after that I sort of lost interest. Love the new one though!
9. we've just hit the classic English football formation: 442.
10. One from today's rehearsal. Happy times. (Cheeky shot taken by the singer).
11. It's a simple fix if you're brave enough to get inside it and desolder the board. If you'll cover the cost of the switch (roughly£1.50) and the P&P I don't mind doing it for you if you don't want to tackle it yourself.
12. It's a really intuitive interface, loads easier than BFD (IMHO). Comes with a library of MIDI loops too to drag and drop into your DAW.
13. Waves are offering a free RBass plugin this weekend. Interested parties should follow the link. http://www.waves.com/lpn/black-friday/free-plugin
14. Yup, it's my "go to" drum software and an absolute steal at this price.
15. Yowza, I don't suppose you need another kidney, do you?
16. I prefer the coloursound bass fuzz, and I went through about 12 or 13 fuzzes before I found what I was looking for. That was an expensive year...
17. If I sit on my hand until it's numb it'll feel like somebody else is doing it - will that count as an extra vote?
18. To be honest I've never found a stock Fender neck that I was happy with. The dimensions and contours were nice, but the high gloss finishes put me right off. Mighty Mite stuff*, on the other hand, is superb. *Other replacement necks are available.
19. Yup, although the European Parliament would prefer you to rename the thread "What difference can 0.127mm make!!"
20. http://www.highlystrung.co.uk/acatalog/Piezo_Pickups.html Not tried one, but looks alright, and it's only 20 Notes
