1. yup. If you want to be really thorough I'd do the pickup cavities as well.
2. Nobody fancy any squelchy fun? erm, just let me rephrase that...

DIY Effects

Just finished my first valve O/D tonight. Currently it looks a lot like an octopus, but it sounds brilliant. Got a blend control too, so I can still keep some clean low end in there too...
4. KISS MY BALD FACE!!!
5. 'tar in place. Now for the razor - long time no see.
6. The Lomenzo is a surprisingly good piece of kit. I've had the Aguilar tone hammer and there was a noticeable dip in volume with the drive circuit engaged (sounded good though). These days (and for a couple of years now) I've used a Dave Hall VT1 EQ pretty much exclusively - it'll do everything from a little bit of fur around the notes through 'proper mucky', right up to 'dirty protest'. Not strictly distortion, as it's an overdrive pedal, but a really versatile unit. http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page29.html
7.
We should also all have tache BC avatars for Movember?
bagsy Magnum PI!
8. Gentlemen (and unless I'm very much mistaken, one or two ladies) the hour is nigh. Anyone got any particular styles in mind? I'm tempted to go for a 'Lemmy'...
9. D'addario halfrounds for me. Disappointing.
10.
We had a Westone Spectrum. I thought that was pretty cool.
I had a ZX Spectrum - that WAS cool!
11. Moi aussi. Got rid of the "full set" with the electric yesterday in readiness for a close razor shave tomorrow. Sorry about that, but pictures are in the rules.
12. Didn't have anything like that. I didn't study music at school because the teachers were a bit erm... intense shall we say. Also it was classical or nothing and I just wasn't interested. I got a job, bought a bass and taught myself. THAT bass was a shocker though!
13. Bought a Squier affinity neck from Anth last week, not got round to doing anything with it yet, but great comms throughout and it was quickly dispatched and well packaged. good do!
14. Can't open iphone files here - do you have an mp3 or similar?
15.
However, it is being broadcast on BBC R3 on (IIRC) 10th November
Duly noted. I'll dig out my old VHS copy of it and turn the sound down on the telly.
16. I really miss mine too. I had a blackface one and it was lovely but it didn't just do 'grind'; it was capable of all sorts of sounds - all of them good!
17. Voted - some really good tunes this month (as always).
18. I used to knit but then a friend suggested I try crochet. Now I'm hooked.
19.
A friend of mine knows a punk bassist who had a bass with only two strings - both tuned to "E" - just in case one snapped...true story..
Jerry Only (Misfits) used to tune his bass E, A, E, A for exactly the same reason.
20. Chord OC-50 - it's an octave pedal that sounds identical to the hallowed Boss OC2 and it's built like a tank. You can pick them up for about £40 and they're worth every penny.
21. “But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." "How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "otherwise you wouldn't have come here."
22. I think is you want to runboth signals together then you'll probably need some sort of buffer in there to stop the impedance loading, which means it won't be true bypass. A high quality buffer is often preferable to no buffer most of the time...
23. Phwoar, that's a beeeeaaauutiful bass. Massive GAS attack shaped bump.
24.
It'll be popular in Japan.
Bassist might need a costume change first though...
