1. I've used Windows and Apple machines for music production for years. Imy experience. A Mac will do exactly the same as a Pc and vice versa. The Mac will do it in a fraction of the time though, as you don't need to allow for reinstalling drivers or removing and refitting and reconfiguring hardware etc... I seem to remember doing this A LOT on Windows machines.
2. Nah, http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page37.html THAT'S a preamp pedal...

First thing that came to mind was one of these: http://www.sourceaudio.net/products/toolblox/programmable_eq.php it all depends on your budget though.
4. Yup. Toilet seat with strings... for "flossing", presumably.
5. I had this tendonitis in my left wrist a few years ago and still get it flaring up from time to time, so you have my deepest sympathies. Voltarol Emugel seems to help - don't know if you've tried that or not. Ultimately the best thing I found for it was acupuncture. I had to pay privately for the physio to stick needles in my arm but it seemed to sort me right out.
6.
wow, this thread is lacking Fun,
Tune! Pharcyde at their best. "Ya Mamma got a wooden leg with real feet"
7. You know Ben, if you swap the ECC83 for an ECC82 it's an amazing valve preamp...
8. Got a passive "Bitsa" P Bass that's got a pretty low action if you'd like? The neck is slimmer than a normal P too, so that should help.
9. That chap's got no arse in his trousers!
10.
I've heard that a 4x10 and a 1x15 isn't a very good pairing, could you explain why not?
Some people would try to dissuade you from running a fifteen and a four by ten, probably because of the dispersion of the cones, but don't worry about it - nothing will blow up. Try it mate; if it sounds right, then it IS right. Don't get hung up on the physics of amps and speakers and enjoy playing, after all, that's why you started playing, right?
11. The ashdown website states that the speaker on your combo is 8Ω, so the short answer is yes, you can use both cabs with your Peavey head. Running two 8Ω cabs (one from each speaker out) will provide a 4Ω load on the head, so you'll get all 450W from your head. (2 speaker in parallel uses the formula R1 x R2 /R1 + R2 - where R is the resistance/impedance of each speaker. In this instance the numbers are 8 x 8 divided by 8 + 8, which gives you 4Ω). Congratulations on your new freebie - looks like a nice bit of kit.
12. certainly, it's a 9v OPAMP buffer (so it'll use the same supply as your board) and has an inout socket and an output socket. That's it really. Aside from lowering the output impedance so that active basses play better with older FX. I use one in front of my OC2 clone just because it seemed easier than trying to mod the OC2 board to accept a higher impedance input...
13. OR I could do you a little buffer to sit on your board to drop the impedance before your signal enters the fuzz...
14. £799 for something that might not even exist? Where do I sign?
15.

That's not a pick - it's an arrowhead.
16.
If the amp isn't too precious to you I'd force a bit of PVA wood glue into the joint using a syringe and screw through from the outside using screw cups. The screw cups would make the repair look like it was meant to be like that.
This. For the sake of a couple of quid's worth of stuff it's worth a punt innit?
17.
Give him a break, hes getting on a bit. I think he does pretty good
yeah! How good is your grandad's singing voice? Hmm?
18.
Mine were melted down to build a Spitfire during the war.

A disco Spitfire, that is.
Mods, mods - this HAS to go in the famous quotes thread - I've just nearly wet 'em. Thankyou please.
19. 100% of the bassists in my house play fretless much more often than fretted basses. I do disco too. So there!
20.
This thread is rapidly turning into a perfume ad for amp manufacturers.
http://youtu.be/oPKigfGYwKE
21.
Is "treacle and cricket" good for metal?
it's OK, you're better off substituting the treacle with syrup though - it lets more of the sputum through. It also has a lower impedance.
22. If they can't find one then try Steve at doctortweek.co.uk he's usually got loads of weird stuff in stock.
