1. Imply an Em, A7 to add a bit more harmonic interest in bar 8, then you've only got 7 bars to worry about. You could do the same at bar 4 too, giving you even less "squeaky bum" time.
2.
Yeah, I like it ... if I take the plunge and get one I may get back to you for details of the mod if that's alright.
that's fine. I'll start looking back through my notes to see what I eventually settled on...
3. Derek Smalls wrote 'Jazz Oddyssey', does that count? http://youtu.be/Kku-Mv8LiFk
4.
The only real way to tell though is to try them all....
Arpeggiator?!

Sonuus B2M and a korg Polysix plugin for your PC or Mac. Comes i at just under £90 as the Sonuus stuff is on special offer at the moment. I'm tempted....
6. I swear by GFS pickups - nmo matter which model you buy they are always great sounding pups that punch WAY above their price point. http://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-PB-Pro-P-Bass-style-pickups-Sweet-Alnico-Vintage-Tone_p_333.html Don't be fooled by the price - they are superb!
7. I've tried to ditch my backline a couple of times, but the sound engineers and/or kit hasn't been up to snuff. It's a lively thought that we could simply swan in half an hour before kick off and just plug in but the reality is that the vast majority of venues are few years away from being able to do it properly. Sadly.
8. yeah, I've tried flats, but occasionally I like to slap on my fretless and just need a bit more 'zing'.
9. Anybody got any experience of these? http://www.daddario.com/dadproductfamily.page?activeid=3768&familyid=17 I'm only asking because roundwounds are eating away at my fretless fingerboard at a rate of knots. I'd rather not reduce my playing, but I'm not keen to fit a new board either...
10. yup - nice little exercise that, thanks for posting!
11. He's not really unwell though is he? He's just regenerating. All the best Ian, get well soon!
12. Also 'slap bass' solo and a damp patch afterwards.
13.
Allow me to be the first of many that says Ampeg SVT & Fender Precision.
Yup. SWR and Jazz Bass. - those 'Acoustic' amps and Jazzes are pretty darn tootin' too!
14. or greetings card outlet? We'll always need more of those.
15. Yup. Doesn't last long, but it does happen. Don't sell your kit though unless your arms drop off (or similar).
16. I would have thought "drive a Rolls Royce into a swimming pool" or at least "hurl the TV out of the hotel window" would have been in there. There's no excuse for lateness though - do they have something better to do with their evening?
17. No. 15 - Presidents of the USA. They should be shot for that. Oh, wait sorry.
18. Wire brush and Dettol ®.
19. If I can't make one, or can't be bothered to then it's basschat. I buy strings from my local (10 minute walk) music shop just because he's local (also a nice guy) and it's handy to have a music shop on my doorstep.
20. I bought some aluminium tape from Aldi a few months back - cheap as chips and works a treat!
21. Throw away your television - RHCP. Not too shabby that line.
22. I reckon I'm up for this. I love my 220 but I'm now in a band with 3 guitarists and need a bit more "oomph" behind me.
23.
Absolutely not. I hate that. 7" singles should run at 45rpm IMO. Besides the initial advice we were given was that for the running time we wanted on the B Side, 45 with less level was preferable to 33 with less bandwidth.
fair do's, 45rpm is the quality choice!
24. The marquee states that it's 101% commission free; that surely means that they pay you to sell your tat? Cool.
