1. SK30A transistors arrived today. Might get a chance to swap them tomorrow and then (hopefully) it's sub-octave tastic...
2. If I wasn't so broke I'd be all over this .
3. Radio 4 it is then. Thanks for all the hard work Ped (et al).
4. I'd recommend powering the valve pedal with its own supply. It won't solve your noise issue, but those bad boys draw MASSIVE amounts of current!
5.
I never figured what NWA had against them. Was it some dispute over sample clearance or something?
brilliant.
6. The double live Police album is absolutely brilliant. One disc taken from the Synchronicity tour, and the other one taken from somewhere much earlier - well worth a listen though.
7. Is it a new iMac? I had the same trouble with PT. I was running PT8 quite happily until my old Macbook died. Got a new Macbook Pro on the home insurance and it came with OSX 10.7 (Lion) preinstalled. I could install everything apart from ProTools due to the new OS architecture. Had to ante up and get PT10 as I can't install anything less than OSX 10.7 on this machine. Bit of a bugger that. PT11 is due out later this year, so it might be worth hanging on to see if any music shops are selling PT10 at a reduced price. Sorry it's not better news.
8. I sold my second one for £40 because I thought that the Agi Octamiser would be better. I actually preferred the sound of the OC2, but I'm glad it went to another BC'er who got some use out of it. Damn that GAS ; there's probably a lesson in there somewhere.
9. Ooh, a mystery. We love it!
10. Top ones are germanium diodes, they've got arsenic inside them so be a bit careful with them. If you can get a multimeter with a diode setting in it you can check the forward voltage, that should give you a bit more information. They might be 1N4914 silicon though, they're quite a common zener diode.

12. I've always sounded like me. Geddy Lee has always copied my playing though, even before I played bass he was stealing the lines from inside my head. Bastard.
13. "here come the bastards" - Primus: Also, by contrast you'll sound positively harmonious.
14. LM324 in position but still getting only wooly/no treble through the OCT 1&2 signal paths. Had a bit of a think about this - the schematic calls for 2 SK30 transistors which are MOSFETs, I think I've substituted them with JFET ones. Oops. SK30s in the post. turning out to be quite costly this - the LM324s were £1.50 for 5 and the SK30s are something like 19p EACH!!! Good job doctortweek.co.uk has loads of vintage/rare goodies on stock. He's on my Xmas card list for sure!
15. Not a fan of most Sabbath stuff but this is brilliant!
16. Had this sat around for a while and not really used it for months. Boss SYB5 clone in a plastic case. Velcro on the bottom for mounting to a pedalboard. Sold
17. The essential Jaco Pastorious - includes Birdland, Teen Town, Amerika, Donna Lee, Continuum and loads more - £10 Building and Expanding Walking Basslines by Ed Friedland. SOLD Maybe more to come, having a bit of a sort out...
